i have a leaking front seal and i need to replace the seal.
my 1st bike was a cx500. very simple; remove from bike ; pull the slider from the tube ; drain old oil ; R & R seals ; very carefully incert slider into tube ; fill with new oil; install on bike.
dose the k1100 allow you this kind of simplicity or will i need a complete tear down and reassembly just to replace the fork seal..
also how do i know if the bike has the marcooizza fork assembely

Good questions, however I don't know the answers.
I'm sure someone will be along to answer your question and we;ll both learn something new.
If you do the seal replacement, I hope you document it with photos and post them here.

I've changed mine without removing the tube from the bike. You have to open the top of course and relieve the springs but you can remove the slider and even refill it before putting it back on. Just don't slide it on too fast or you get a fork fluid "old faithfull" out the top. You already know how I know.

Okay, I can't seem to find it now, but I thought that I've read that the Marzocchi forks are a millimeter or two greater in diameter than the standard forks. When I had my forks done, I recall taking this measurement to order the seals, but don't remember where I found it.
Funny, I changed the head gasket on my K, but I won't take the front shocks apart....

It's easy. If you did your Old Honda forks, you can do these.
