Now I know why.
Because it's like wearing a 4 foot adamantium strap on.

You guys know the saga. Been lusting over one for years now, pulled the trigger and got burned here buying one for a non K11 bike, subsequently sold.

And recently 2 for sale, pulled the trigger on this one.

http://www.k11og.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4818

Thanks again Rich....delivered to my house even!

Bolted that puppy up last night, new gaskets and hardware and all.

Painted the headers black, but the can was too nice to butcher with my rattle can skillz.

The verdict?

Holy hell what a difference.

1. Noticeable HP increase. Not a lot, maybe 5hp or so, but definitely noticeable.

2. The sound is simply sick. My K actually sounds like a motorcycle now and not a sewing machine! When I drop it to 4th and pass someone they know it. It's a deep throaty growl and I love it. Bags off today I was ripping around....the bike felt and sounded like a superbike.

3. I was always reluctant to pull the trigger on purchasing one because I always viewed it as a luxury purchase. Not the case at all. It is no more luxury than any of the other upgrades I have done.

The bike feels.........uncorked. Like it can finally breathe. And just on initial riding seems to make the bike run a tad cooler.

Anyone who has been considering upgrading their exhaust, do it.

Do it now.

Pics later.

Drake you are worse than an attention whore.

You are a closet attention whore, the worst kind. Cool

I stuck a K&N in mine a couple of years ago and that made a difference and I've been on the lookout for a Remus since but have always been out priced, missed out on 1 on flea bay the other night, got sniped in the last 5 secs, I think those people are just cheaters. It looks like I'll have to fork out the £450 notes for a new one at this rate.

Sniping in NOT cheating. Everybody knows exactly when the auction ends so it's perfectly fair to all. You can either put in your highest bid manually in the last 10 secs (as much as you are willing to pay) or use a sniping service.

I don't understand, why do you even need a sniping service? Just place your highest bid and let it go. I have seen things sell for 20-40% above retail do to sniping wars. Man, I determine what I'll pay, place my high bid and go to bed. Either I get it or I don't.

Sniping isn't cheating, but it sure seems like a great way to throw money away. I needed a new plastic top case for my Dell laptop. I found a used one on Ebay bidding for $75, seemed reasonable to me until I checked the Dell site. New, from Dell, same part sells for $47. The part eventually sold on Ebay for $86.

Speaking of Remus, The black pad printing on the riveted Remus emblem on my exhaust has worn off. I sent Remus an email requesting a new one last Friday, and it arrived free of charge in the mail yesterday!

Classy outfit, for sure.

Let's see, Remus, Hmm... pemus?Rolling Eyes

Hey irome, which model Remus do you have - the units shown here have the alu can with engraved logo.

I am also on the lookout, but they are not common here in the UK.
Would you post a piccy of how it looks on your bike ?

Thx

I finally managed to win on Sunday, just waiting for it to arrive now. It is the stainless can with engraved logo [type 125]. Are there any known issues with the Remus and K&N combination?

Only the K&N. K&N filters let through more dirt than OEM filters and have no impact on power on our bikes as the stock filter is oversized to start with.

Thanks for the info on the K&N Remus combo. When I fitted the K&N a couple of years age I was certain that there was a difference. All I am concerned with now is if the clutch will cope with all this extra power and the trailer on the back, it slips occaisionally in top when the power is laid on despite being replaced only 3500 miles ago. Only time will tell just hope I'm on home turf when it gives up so it's easier to get it recovered home.

Check the clutch cable tightness. Clutch should fully engage about halfway through the lever throw.

If the cable is too tight it can cause the clutch to slip.

If you have no room on your barrel adjustment, adjust the screw on the bottom of the tranny.

I had the same problem not long after a clutch cable change. Mechanic made the cable too tight and I was slipping under hard acceleration.

Loosed the cable and viola' tight as a librarian.

I am about to do a service on the beast and the clutch is on the list of to do's. I have various bits of rod that the right length for setting up cables and such so i will just go through the process again. Thanks for the pointers though it's always useful to hear different bits of advice and opinions because not everyone is the same.
Still waiting for pipe though, expected at the weekend now while I'm away so won't get the chance to fit it for another couple of weeks.
