I have a good friend who has an ABS1 K11, he tells me that in order to register on this forum, he must enter a code which is to be found near the BMW badge on his bike.
1) How does a non owner, who wants to own a K11 register?
2) How can he register, as his bike is currently not at his home?
3) I don't remember doing this when I registered.
4) How does a none member PM Ted or the moderators to clear up any queries, when one must be a member so to do ?
Thanks.

"BMW" Very Happy

That authorization code is there to keep spambots from registering.

I don't think it was there when you signed up. Ted added that about a year or so ago.

Because it wasn't there - Ted added that after you joined to keep the spam bots out.

Hi Folks Smile

The spam bots were fierce so I installed the "Ask a Question" widget -- the only problem was a lot of the spammers were doing this by hand so easy questions like "How many wheels does a BMW Motorcycle have?" were useless. On the good side, we've had only one or two spam registrations in the last six months or so (from 50 or so a day), the bad news is it looks as though it is keeping out the folks we want in.

So, to pipe things up a bit, how about we take suggestions from one and all on a good BMW Motorcycle-specific question Smile

Right now it reads: "Authorization Code: * You can find the 3-letter auth code on the roundel on the side of your motorcycle"

How about I add, "Hint - it begins with "B" and ends with "W"."

Any and all suggestions welcomed!

Since this is a K Forum, and it's hoped that new members will know what a K is, how about a three-choice question;

Q - What is the main difference between a K bike and an R bike
A1 - Ks were only made for certain markets
A2 - Ks have more than two cylinders.
A3 - Ks were only made for a limited time to ensure exclusivity

Have I answered the question correctly and if so, can I claim my $64.000? Laughing
