|
|
Last Wednesday I went for a group ride with some work mates, all Hardleys and Honda cruzers. I made the mistake of taking them down a gravel/dirt road (I didn't know it, but half the group stopped and refused to proceed saying "we're not on DIRT BIKES "
So I come to a"T" intersection, 2 gravel roads, in the middle of the forest, and the rider in my mirror the whole time pulls up next to me.
We sit there on our bikes talking while waiting for the others to catch up, when this guy decides to park his huge ass Honda Shadow.
But he forgot to put his side stand down first... He's conversationally close... falling onto MY BIKE... his left foot caught under his own floorboard...
So here I am at a 45degree angle, holding my bike, him, and his fat ass bike up... I have one foot down... on gravel...
I somehow managed to shove him off me enough to get my sidestand down... how I managed to keep my bike from touching down on the gravel I don't know... I'm still holding him and his bike up... I get around the right side of my bike and lifted his goofy ass back upright.
Although my RS is scratched all to hell on the right side, it would have been worse had I ended up as filling in a gravel-honda sandwich...
To cap off the day, I later managed to put a hole in my radiator... a mile from the shop, luckily... she's still there... |

I have never been on a group ride of more than me and someone else. For some reason it has no appeal to me.
Heck, even riding with JO scares me. Every time I look in my mirrors I think "The Fly" is coming after me.
Good thing you were able to keep the left side clean. Is the other guy going to pony up for repairs? _________________ 93 LT (x2)

rydor...
im feeling it... f ing sucks... the honda rider would be flipping the total repair bill out of his pocket if it were me... radiator too... sometimes an accident has to be an expensive one for one to feel the pain...
now go paint it flat black and make it a hooligan motobrick... and get some f ing knobbies for heavens sakes...
i dont particularity like group rides but i have been on a few with the pashnit folks... all kinds of bikes... but seasoned riders... they are a ride your own ride type deal with a designated route... the fast guys go first... the slower folks go last... lotts of separation... well controlled by the ride boss...
we always try to ride sweep... i wave by anyone behind me... then its like we are out there alone but with the security of a group if something were to happen...
fd...
i may scare riding riding the bug eye motobrick within your general proximity... ch1t man i scare myself... its hard being me having superior skills and all... thats why i ride so slow... i dont want to grandstand in sight of the k11og geezers...
more on the fly... im thinking its every time you look in your mirrors... im thinking its because you ride like ch1t...

Actually, if you want to be a real hooligan, you should just sand it down and paint the whole thing in primer. No rounels either, bags or bike. Go for the poverty/stealth look _________________ 93 LT (x2)

WHAT And he's got a license? We've all heard the joke about the boss cruisier rider who buys a BMW and takes it back to the dealership because it falls over when he stops at an intersection ('cos it's not got a 15" wide tyre)...but that's all I thougt it was...a joke
If you hadn't suffered as a result, it'd be funny, but as it is it's just scary... _________________
