After staying at my cabin this past weekend, Johnny O deicded he wants to invite all of you there for the first weekend (and more if you've got the time) of August next summer since staying there wouldn't cost any of you a dime.

I''d be happy to host it and have got beds, hammocks, cots and a fold-out couch for probably 15 people. Also floor and deck space and there's also some room outside for the heartier tenting typers if need be. So I could probably handle all that are willing to attend.

Note that it is a rather rustic type of living. We refer to it as indor camping. We've got electricity and a fridge but no running water and a designer outhouse. It's right on the water with clams and oysters on the beach and, if my crab pots don't get robbed like they did when we were out riding last weekend, there's probably some fresh Dungeness crab to be had as well.

Note that we do have a water supply very close and that there are showers at the state park about a mile away.

Just throwing the notion out for your planning purposes right now. Post a "maybe I can make it" or "I'll do it for sure" and we can get some more serious planning done in May or June of 2009. Reservations aren't an issue of course but we might as well plan around when Johnny's going to be in this area next August since he's kindly offered to buy all of the booze for everyone. Razz

To get an idea of the exact location, look up Nordland, WA on your favorite mapping tool or Google Earth.

That's a long time ahead for me to look given how volatile things have been for me, but if there's anyway I can make it... I will!

Count me in, not sure if the wife can make it, but a year is more than enough time to plan me in.

I like this plan. A two-stage "Third Annual K11OG National Rally."

I like this plan too.

Kinda' makes me want be sure to hold on to the K-Bike for a while longer. Not that I had any plans of making a change, but I've been known to act impulsively. And it wouldn't do to show up at the rendezvous on an ST. Wink

I had lunch with JO and Micki today. Though they can't be sure of their plans since THE MAN determines their schedule, the current plan is for the first weekend in August so we'll plan around that.

I'd suggest we hit Red Lodge after my cabin. That'll give me itme to get there ahead of everyone and get thingsin order. Then I'll ride to Red Bluff with whomever is going that way. With any luck Beartooth Pass will be open in August.

It's fine if you show up on an ST. You'll just have to park it up on the public highway and ride sweeper on any group rides. Razz

I want to come! The family, I think, wants to go back to Oregon next summer so I was thinking of trailering (no chit for this, I can't get 5 people on it, hell I couldn't even get all my wife's luggage on it) the bike back to Eugene. Then I could ride on up to the sound. Would be fun to meet everyone.

How much time you think I would need to manage a coast to coast ride with 2-3 days of relaxing in between?

10 days?

Ten days should be enough to allow getting off the slab occasionally and not feeling overly rushed. Coast to coast one way can be done in three days (hell, Gwen's done a CC50), but I don't think it would allow much time for diversions.

I've never done a coast to coast, but for shorter trips I have used on-line mapping tools (Mapquest, Google Maps, etc.) that offer decent trip planning. They can give you quickest route options and are reasonably close in projecting travel time. Since you'll be angling from southeast to northwest, you'll be looking at a bit more than a straight coast to coast.

And you'll want to allow a little extra time to find and meet up with rydor, Scott Anderson, Klinker, et. al.

Hi, Guys,
I'd LOVE to be there. I'll try to remember to PLAN IT FOR THE CORRECT WEEKEND next year! Don't throw rocks at a K75A/3 or a K75RT if I do make it.

Twist my arm already..
I will do my best to make it. Maybe I can find a K11RS before, otherwise it is the LT... I will bring a blender as well.

Say, anyone need a '90 LT?
