Is there any difference between a 93 RS and a 96 RS? An owner told me that by 95 BMW had the bugs worked out. True/false?

The 93 RS has a 50A alternoator. For some reason, only the 93 LT had the puny 32A alternator - probably has something to do with the first model year for the RS being a 93 while the LT was introduced earlier.
I think most of the changes are related to the ABS 1 to 2 change (wiring harness, ABS sensors, instrument cluster, Motronic, etc...) so they're pretty much identical except for the ABS.
Having ridden/owned both ABS I and ABS II bikes, I'd say the ABS II bikes are more prone to trying to engage when not needed. I say this for two reasons:
1) Leaving my neighborhood, there's a spot where I come over a rise right before a stop sign. When the rear end gets light brakng on the rise, I can feel the rear ABS let go. This never happens on my K1100LT and also never happened on my K100RS4V eithe4r.
2) When using the rear brake and going over road nipples while lanesplitting in Californica, the ABS II on my 94 RS will act funny and engage momentarily. Again, I've never experienced this on my ABS I LT or the K100RS4V.
From that perspective I'd say the ABS II is more quirky than ABS I - especially the first time you don't get as much rear brake as you expect. I"m used to it now (and of course rely mostly on my front brake) so it's not that big of an big issue but I'd orefer it if it didn't behave that way.
I suppose part of it could be due to the ABS II having a shorter cycle time than ABS I so ABS I never gets to the point of engaging while the ABS II does. Tht's just a guess but I still wish it didn't happen. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Two obvious changes :
ABS I canisters replaced by discrete ABS II module
Footpeg carriers change from Serpentine pattern to triangle with 3 chevrons.
(Not easy to describe, but quite obvious)

After '93 the motronic is different, maybe the next generation/iteration.

So the '94 models are different.
I looking at a '93, I like my '96 and just wanted to know if the are basically the same.
Thanks for all the info.

A friend of mine took the RS this weekend and now wants to buy it. So I can help him find one or get another one and sell mine. _________________ IBA#42211

93 or 96?
I'd rather go 96 mph. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
