I still say he didn't put any/enough miles on the LT. No way an RS could be a better bike 2-up, imo.
PS that's a damn good bike, but without any farkels at all the price should be a bit lower. Also imo. |
This bike does have bar backs, a top box, throttle lock, an LT seat (I think) and a larger windshield.
Maybe it would make a good 2 up bike. |

Yes, I would ride it to Waverly for that price.

Johnny, that's the same paint code as the iowa lt motobrick.

Yes, I would ride it to Waverly for that price.

Now Johnny here's how it could work.
I could meet oldrunner at micki's folks house,
setup the RS for storage,
pickup the cases I left behind,
and then take oldrunner to the airport for a fligh home.

Thanks, but I'm only 1.5 hours away and my wife would come with me in a car.
And I can set it up for storage too.

Phil, that's ok too. Just an idea. Didn't know how close you were.
It's up to Johnny now to decide anyway. _________________ Ride safe.

Make no mistake I am not slamming your bike by any means. at 5k it's still a killer deal and I am sure it will sell soon. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

oldrunner...
i knew the whole deal would only be about 4 hours round trip for you... thats why i asked...
here is the deal from my vantage point...
i wanted to be like the flying duck... i was so very desperate... so i got the lt because he has one... i was going to adorn it with leds and all kinds of stuff because i didnt want to be one upped... but i ran out of time...
i know i got caught up in motobrick envy... im human... im weak... i couldnt help myself... not even an intervention could make me face the cold reality of the affliction...
i hit rock bottom... and have been rehabilitated... so... the lt must go in order for me to get right... so... if i can sell the lt for market value i would get another rs... its the way it should have been...
i really like the das boot rs... its a fine machine... has history here... and is priced at market value... but its in cleveland... im in los angeles... and the rs needs to be in iowa...
the oldrunner rs also looks to be a fine machine... its priced above market value... but its 1.5 hours from where it needs to be and the price includes delivery...
nothing can go down until i sell the lt... then we will have to figure it out...
i would like to thank barback obmamma for giving me hope and change i can believe in...

A funny thing happened on the way to the marketplace.
Last spring , I decided I needed to move "up" to a newer more powerful bike. I got a nice 2004 K1200GT with low miles and lots of stuff on it that the K11 does not have. Then finally I put the K11 up for sale.
But after more riding and really being honest with myself, I realized that I enjoyed riding the K11 more than the K12. I came back from every ride on it really feeling like it was a good ride.
So for half the investment, I'm going to keep the K11 and sell the K12.
Know anybody that wants one?
I'm asking $10K
Phil
Thanks for all your patience and comments. |

Oldrunner,
Glad you made the decision to keep the RS It would have be hell to realize you made a mistake as you watch it disappear down the road.
