Just be glad you're not chick who needs 20,000 pairs of shoes - none of which will do more than 4mph.

Try a RAM mount system, with a security cable, just in case....
Nice boot!
Guilherme.

I "won" this on EBay to replace the knee pad on my bike. One of the screw tangs was broken since it came into my possession. Something you don't see until you take it apart.

I was looking at a set of front rotors but I trust Duck's caliper more than some guy on EBay.

Not near as cool as a new GPS or boots but what are you going to do? Very Happy Where did you get your GPS, Dave? Let us know how it works out. +1 on the Ram mounts!

The ram mount kind of depends on where you want it to be in your view. I liked Larry's install, up around the map light, so you don't have to look as far down, or off to the side, to see it.
The closer to my regular line of sight the better, for ME anyway.

Here's a link to LT mounts:

http://products.ram-mount.com/rammount/motorcycle22.aspx?db=Magellan&dm=Road+Mate+2000T+Series&y=1994&b=BMW&m=K1100LT&g=1

I used this bolted to the dash to the right of the speedo.

Then I used this to mount to the ball. Now it can be pivoted almost anywhere you want it.

Got one of these to keep the honest people honest.

and here's what he needs to hold his unit.

Dave here's the page I started on:

http://www.ram-mount.com/products/motorcycles.htm

I can get a better pic of the set up, maybe, if you want.

I can totally relate to your plight.
We can join a twelve step program, maybe.

Aye I want it around the light as well. My grip area is pretty busy to begin with, the left particularly. I don't think a RAM mount will serve my purpose well unfortunately.

This is my take on it.

Brackets and mounting box are for a BMW R1100RT and are available from BMW dealers. The side arm extensions were needed to raise the Zumo over the clocks, but a Quest or any from the Garmin 2*** range shouldn't need them.

I did have to make a longer mounting rod for the box to clamp onto, but it's only a short length of 8mm bar tapped to take M5 bolts. It was all looking a bit tatty when I took these pics (I ride in all weathers...except snow Embarassed ) but I've repainted since Very Happy
