Roy,

IIRC, she is a D.C. (like myself) and I seem to recall reading a few articles about that incident.

I am one of 3 Selectman in my town- N.H. has small towns governed by a Selectboard of either 3 or 5 selectmen (no bias- women or men are designated as such). While our town has less than 600 residents and most weekly Selectboard meetings are, at best, boring- we have had a few threats.

Wanna guess what I ALWAYS carry to EVERY meeting?

John

What's a D.C?

And fwiw, I agree with her completely. They have no right to legislate your right to defend yourself away as they did to her.

Well, with a population of 300 million or so, and 200 million guns out there, I doubt there's much chance of anyone depriving this nation of arms.

Nope, just the law-abiding citizens. They're the ones who give up their guns when legislation is passed.

EXACTLY. Did the criminal that shot her parents obtain his weapon legally? I do not know one way or the other, but I have my doubts.

The Second Amendment defeat is a 'war of attrition'. The AntiGun movment is going to try to cripple the S.A. by limiting what it does not protect. Guns are useless without ammunitiand have an age life(they can become obsolete).

Outlaw the possession of ammunition and stop the manufacture of modern weapons and in a generation, most guns will be useless. It has been played out in many other nations.

But the 2nd Amendment was just upheld by the Supreme Court in a Washington DC hangun case...

I think gun fans are scared of all the liberals being in charge (rightfully so), but I think it's important not to panic. At least without substantial reason!

Looking at it from the front view, you are correct. But , thats under the assumption the SC remains balanced. That vote was won 5/4....And there will be 1 or 2 appointees under the Hussein Administration, who has stated he would appoint Justices who favor a more Common intepretation, rather than the Constitution interpretation. Which could likely turn the tables. Hussein has also stated his disdain for the Constitution on a number matters.

It is the back view angles that are the real threat. ie..There is a Bill in 18 states to 'code' ammunition, in essence registering the people who buy the Ammo.

I think people are freaking out because what should be set in stone, has been taken over by a 'MOB Rules Mentality'. We have already gone so far away from the Constitution, We are no longer a Free Republic, but rather a People controlled by the majority, with little regard for the Constitution.

I've never seen a gun with an expiration date stamped into it. I've fired weapons from the 1800s and used ammo from the 20s. Boy does that old black powder genrerate some smoke.

FD: This is not my opinion, but one I have heard reasoned to me. And imperical as it may sound, regardless the age of a guns, with no Ammo it would be useless, in essence become Obsolete.

And although they could never stop small scale munitions, without large scale manufacturing, the amount needed to arm a Militia could never be met. Which is the real goal of Anti Gun Pricks, to disarm the people and push their Government controlled agenda.

Although, with the amount of Guns & Ammo this countries public has amassed, we are the most well armed citizens in the world. God Bless America and the Second Amendment.......

As an Anti Gun Prick, my goal is not to push a "Government controlled agenda" - far from it. My goal is to get guns off the streets and out of the hands of whack jobs and criminals. If the whack job who drove into the restaurant didn't have a gun - her parents would still be alive. I have no problem with hunting weapons - handguns are only made for killing other sentient beings.

Having lived only minutes from DC most of my life, I can tell you without a doubt - the last thing our Nation's Capital needs is another gun - and it sure as hell doesn't need any damned assault weapons.

God Bless the Whole World

The current administration has done much more damage to the first amendment than Obama and company will be able to do to the second.

4th; 5th; 6th; 8th; 10th also ignored by King George and crew.

Heard the same crap from the NRA when Clinton was elected - I can't recall any disarming of the public taking place then.

In fact all this gun ban hysteria has been good for the firearms industry - this past weekend the state of South Carolina had a tax free weekend on firearms purchases - the gun stores were packed.

I have no problems with citizens with firearms - I think one should have to show a certain level of competence with piece before buying however.

+1 on Daves comments.

The entire purpose of the second amendment was to prevent exactly what is starting to happen now in this country......ironic isn't it.

I have zero confidence in the government to regulate and monitor who and what kind of guns we can own.

And it's been proven that psycho killers with guns will delibrately look for soft, defenseless targets.

If my wife would allow I would own a shotgun for the home in a heartbeat and even consider carrying. (goes far against my liberal agenda, eh? Cool )

But then again, I also feel that a good presence of mind and situational awareness goes much further than simply owning a gun.

Not sure how much a weapon would protect anyone from a determined crazy person hell bent on taking human lives. (ie the India massacre...10 guys with AKs, hand grenades and ammo took out 200+, whats that, 2500$ worth of hardware?)

I don't claim to have the answers regarding guns, but I know that I do not want England-type laws trying to be passed here....man the English government has completely gone off the deep end on the liberal side.

I agree.

I would like to see buying guns like buying alcohol in New Hampshire. There are only a few places to buy alcohol. I am not against sane and lawful citizen buying a gun, but there has to be more controls on who can buy. Think Virginia Tech or any of the other school or work place shootings.

I know the background check is faulty and there are so many loopholes nut cases can get through but something must prevent those that shouldn't have gun from getting one. If it takes a month to buy a gun so be it. One should only be able to buy a gun from a few selected places. I am not advocating that one can't buy one. I just want to make it as hard as possible to buy one.

And also one should not be able to buy anything that is semi or fully automatic or that can be converted. There is no place for that type of gun anywhere other then a war zone.
