|
|
Hi Guys,
Currently running a '93 LT but was wondering how big a job it would be to change to an RS fairing, are any of the panels interchangable, would I need a whole interior as well as exterior. I'm assuming headlight ok but indicators in mirrors on RS.
What about the mudguard?
Would anyone have a detailed list of requirements to do the swap and or any suggestions about it.
Thanks

I have one suggestion: Don't do it. Sell your LT and buy an RS.
Aside from the gas tank, gauges/cluster and headlight, there are no common parts forward of the tail cowl.
The first issue is that the frames are different. The fairing might not fit right and chances are you'd have to fabricate custom mounting brackets.
And for the hassle of it all including finding fairing parts, painting, taking a fairing off and putting the new on you're in for quite a big project.
Your LT is worth more than a comparable RS of year and miles (theoretically) so with taxes/title transfer it would be about a wash on the $$$ I'd guess. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Sounds like that's a no no then, cheers for the low down, It was just a whim in the scheme of things as I have to get the fairing off to repaint anyway,

There was a poster from Belgium who did it the other way, he placed a Lt on an RS. There was also photos but I think the were lost with a bunch of other pictures that were also lost up the site.
Anyway, think the fit went pretty easy, but it was along time ago. _________________ 1995 K1100RS
