Wow....nice LT from across the pond!
I like the wide, large crashbar mounted lights but for me that would mean no highway pegs which is a necessity for me. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

It's a K1100/K100 amber lens shield from http://www.powerbronze.co.uk/
It comes with 'Stickle Brick' type pads to fix it to the lamp so it can be removed for cleaning or night time riding. Expensive but absolutely unmissable from miles behind when viewed through a rear view mirror.
They are no protection against hitting an indecisive pigeon at 85MPH though...
The lamps in this picture have now been replaced by the ones in the first two pictures.

They're actually proper headlamps with halogen 60/45 dip/beam bulbs to prevent glare.
I actually though that the mirror lighting was what would have drawn the attention, but...

I thought that there maybe a backlight behind the RH Mirror Glass, but I wasn't sure. If that is what you are refering to, it looks great. More details please... how did you do it? _________________ Gary

High intensity 12V LEDs on self-ahesive strips, stuck onto the rear of the mirror glass and sprayed with a waterproof 'Plasti-Coat' ignition sealant.
It creates a backlit effect and doesn't intrude when riding at night.
The strips come on a reel (like a film reel) and can be cut off in sections or multiples thereof) of three LEDs per block. Each block of three on the roll contains it's own resistor and solder connection points so you can cut off a strip of six or twelve etc.
I will take a picture of the strip and post it tomorrow.
Mine are wired to the sidelights (parking lamps?) but you guys could wire them in to flash with the indicators if required. We can't do this in the UK as rearward flashing indicators have to be amber.
The LED strips are available in white, red and blue. _________________
