I took a solo 10 day road trip from Vancouver to Calgary and back (the long way of course) last September.
Day one got me to Kamloops to visit some friends. Day two is where the riding really began.
Wells Gray, heading north
Side of the road
Spent the night here in Valemount, BC
Keep your eyes on the road
Mount Robson
Self portrait
Along the Yellowhead highway
Heading east
Rest stop near Jasper
Typical Rocky Mountain view
Athabasca glacier
North of Lake Louise
Caution - mountain ahead!
Into Alberta
Which way?
Attacked in Drumheller!
T-Rex is actually an info booth and you can climb up into his mouth to see the view
Real T-Rex at the Drumheller museum
OK now hold that pose for 400 million years...
These hoodoos are huge
...not really
Now it's time to head west (and into the sunset)
Luna
Calgary tower
South of Calgary
Coleman, Alberta
Bovines on the road in Montana
Riding thru Montana
In Idaho
These kinds of bridges always freak me out
Gotta love the back roads
Over troubled waters
Old train tunnel near Midway, BC
Overlooking Osoyoos
Back to Vancouver and into the rain
The trip was 4500 kms and 10 days long. A nice chunk of time to be riding every day. I got to visit some old friends and see some new sights. Now to plan my first trip of 2009.
Cheers! _________________ Four wheels move the body - two wheels moves the soul |

Kickass ride and even better pics.
BC has some of the best vistas.
Love that top case too, where did it come from?

Glad you liked the pictures.
I didn't like the original BMW topcase - too big and heavy - so I got an old Pelican 1500 and bolted it on. It's just big enough to fit my tankbag, so now when I stop for lunch etc. I just put it in there, lock my helmet on too and I'm fully locked and secure. _________________ Four wheels move the body - two wheels moves the soul |

Wow, that was great. I've fished in Canada for 10-12 years and recognized the little rock piles along the road.
However I don't know what they mean or who builds them.
Thanks for the trip report. _________________ '93 K1100LT
