Gentlemen I need your help. I liked my new to me 1993 K1100LT so much this past summer that I decided to tear it down this winter and check it all out. It was a Florida bike so had some surface rust on the frame, needed new fluids, etc. So I took it down to the engine sent the frame and wheels off to be powder coated, new brakes, hoses and finally got it all back together and running over the new year's weekend. I now only have have one problem. I cannot get the cooling fan to shut off. I checked relays, wires to the sensor on the bottom of the water pump, sensor on the hose housing to the engine and it still runs when the ignitiion is on. Of course I had every wire off when I did my winter project as described above but am about out of ideas. Does anyone out there have any ideas on what I misswired or screwed up or should look for? I appreicate it. _________________ Jackson

Just a guess, but would a pinched/grounded wire do it? _________________ Current Bikes

| Does the cooling water warning light come on as well (it works, right?)? The Temp sensor fitted is a NTC type (basically the higher the temp the lower the resistance) This means that a short in the wiring leads the ECU to react as if the engine is too warm and fan and/or warning light comes on. Cheers, Rene. |

After much weeping and nashing of teeth it was the motronic. I narrowed it down to that even though I didn't want to beleive it and found one on E-bay, bought it, swapped it our with the old one and everything is lovely. Thanks for the suggestions. _________________ Jackson
