It's just an extender, not a full windshield. I don't think I've seen one before, unless this is the one that velcros on. _________________ 1993 K1100RS

i had a laminar lip on the bug when the klinker did 2400 miles in 48 hours...
i took it off because it caused severe helmet buffeting at 80mph...

On an LT you're probably better off getting a taller screen from Cee Bailey or Parabellum. Easy to clean and probably lets less rain through.
I'm 6-2 and find a Parabellum +4 works great. Only put it up when it rains, even when riding sans helmet. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Ya 6'3" here and the +4 is fine.
Oddly enough, I need to put the shield up a bit when riding now...with the Corbin I did not. The stock seat is almost 2" higher and closer. (ie the Corbin brings you noticeably lower and further back than stock) _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

I was hoping I'd found a cheaper alternative to the parabellum, but I guess not. Ah well. I'm 6'4", and gotta find something to keep me dry-ish. _________________ 1993 K1100RS

The previous owner of my 93 K11RS had a Parabellum 'shorty' windshield mounted at the top of the fairing. It includes a fiberglass extension that fits onto the stock fairing, mainly making it a bit wider. The clear windshield bolts onto the extension. The extension piece is painted to match the bike.
It looks good and cuts even more windblast than the stock fairing. I am 6'4" so every bit helps...

I'm 6'0 and find that if I run it all the way up the turbulence from the stock screen hits me in the back of the helmet. I'm thinking of replacing it with a Parabellum +2.5 and wondering if this will solve my problem. Also has anyone found that the taller screens stress the mounting arms? I've already replaced one. _________________ Jim

I've had trouble with my electronic windshield from day one, rebuilt the works in there once, and have play in both arms as we speak. I am reluctant to open it up and see how much it costs me this time.
I don't think the taller windshield will tweak/stress the internals any more, but of course you should not put the screen up or down while riding.
I have often thought of constructing a "U" shaped rubber "brace" that can be placed under each arm to support the arms when they are in the upright position.
Drake, get with it.
IMO the electronic windshield is one of the weak spots on the bike. (like the fork seals/tubes, heated grips) Actually it's the mechanicals that are weak, not the electronics. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

I added one of the later switches where you can use your thumb on the cltuch perch. Wit hthe cruise control set on if I'm going over 30-40 I use my right hand to give the windscreen an assist in order to lesen the strees on the mechanism/motor. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
