Aw...I had a long hot love affair with an RD400 back in the mid 80's. Surprised a few unsuspecting Interceptors and Ninjas. Seized it up at about 90mph one day when the oil ran dry. Ah, youth.

Owrstrich, that is a beautiful RD. Restored or just in great shape?

Back in the late 70's when I was roadracing I ran a Yamaha XS500 (4 stroke) in mod/prod and there were a whole bunch of these Klotz burners in my class. They were probably the BEST handling bike back then and once lightly modified could embarrass riders on much larger machines.

Keep the revs on the lower end of the tach and it can be pretty tame.

NICE BIKE.

Bought a RD350 for the wife (way back when). Told her to shift into second as soon as the bike started moving. Took it away from her and sold after she rode it twice. Scary quick and the engine was peaky as hell. Fun bike.
