Just picked her up today:
2002 Silver FZ1
27K miles
3000$ with some extras, manual.

Mods:
1)Ivans jet kit installed by Ivan himself.
2)Dale Walkers AIS removal kit.
2)Sargent seat
3)Rifle screen & fabri screen
4)Scorpion exhaust, stock exhaust will go with it as well.
5)Racetech rear shock/spring
6)Color matched OEM hugger.
7)Pirelli diablo stradas, 50% life left on the rear & LOT of life left at the front.
8)GYTR 1 inch handle bar lowers.
9)Rizoma fancy metal grips (PO again)
10)Throttle mister barends.
11)Rear fender not eliminated but cut, I not a fan of eliminators anyway but this looks like a nice job done by the PO.
12)Front pyramid fender extender
13)Uncaged frame sliders.
14)Speedbleeders for 5 mins brake bleed job.
15)Fancy wheel stems, makes filling air easy as the valve is pointed towards you.

I can see I am going to have to show a lot of patience and temperance with this bike, the power curve is something I can get into trouble with very easily.
I have never owned a street bike this fast. (not saying much I know, but for f**ks sake this bike power wheelies in 1st and 2nd gear!) The engine is basically a detuned version of the R1.

Going to be fun modding her after I get new shoes and sprockets/chain/tankbag/topcase.

Gotta be a BIG grin on your face when that beatch comes on the power spike with that pipe.

#1 first must do mod for you: Highest version of speed enforcment detection you can get. I think your gonna need that right quickly.

1. The wind protection on the LT is vastly underrated. The LT might be the perfect cold weather bike. Also I took for granted how much wind the mirrors broke.

2. I used to think my LT was fast. Boy was I wrong. All it takes is one fast bike to make you realize how much of a tank the LT is.

3. For it's weight the LT is a nimble tracker.

4. The FZ1s Sargent seat is 100x more comfortable than the stock LT seat. Shocked

Some from today. This bike can do 80 in 2nd gear and hit 120 in a few hearbeats easy with plenty to spare.

Tour mode:
Givi topcase, Cortech tank bag. I also have Nelson Rigg soft saddlebags that I have yet to install.

Also waiting on tires and springs and then pretty much done....time to eat the miles.

Oh yeah, an observation. I changed the oil. It uses Rotella 15w-40 oil which is about 10 bucks a gallon and a Supertech filter which is 3 bucks. Oil change took 5 mins and about 10 bucks.

Plus the bike uses 87 octane fuel only. The engine was designed for it.

I still can't get over how fast and tourquey this bike is. It's just unlike any bike I have ever been on. It's downright scary at times.

Oh yeah I also put a set a Buell footpegs on it which lower them about 1 1/2 inches and makes a huge difference for us tall guys.

New Regina chain and sprockets and shes as smooth as butta....

Tank is 21L/22.2q which is 5.5gal (including reserve)

I get about the same mileage as I did on the LT (35ish)

I can't plug the FZ1 enough.

Even though we have not done any actual riding together, when she sat on it she said it felt good.

One of her complaints with the BMW was that the topcase backrest was too far away so she had to lean back to use it.

If I were to go with a Triumph I would be looking at a Sprint ST or RS.
