Sooooooo cynical Owrstrich !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

OK the difference is thus - spot the "rod ends" bit in the text on the Realm website, that's one giveaway. Granted, still not £70 difference - Then there' the bits you can't see, including the beefed up internals. Then there's the fact that each Hi-Po shock has to be built to a different spec. to the stock items, taking up more assembly time = more money, even here in cash strapped England. Cool Don't forget, club members still get 10% discount - maybe 10% more than other manufacturers offer????????

Just for an excercise in futility, compare the RAM shock with any other well know shock with the same / similar spec and then ask the same question re: price difference? Wink Wink

I think you'll find that the RAM shox compare quite favourably on price and performance.

Tmoons - no probs as the same discount deal has been offered on all the forums that participated in the original data gathering - think I've seen your userid on the "Flying Brick" forum??? Cool

ANY Eu country is currently benefitting from the fact that suddenly Sterling is worthless against the Euro - making the shox effectively 30% cheaper than a year ago! 5 RAM shox recently sold to a German customer.

Originally I started the ball rolling on the UK forums, then Flying Brick and latterly the k11og to gather K11 specific data. ALL forums have been responsible for excellent feedback, that's why Realm offered the discount.

I'm carrying out the same investigation for TELELEVERS / OILHEADS.

Owrstrich, I suspect that even the "stock" RAM shock is better than a "stock" OEM version - you pays yer money and takes yer choice.

Safe riding buddy

Exactly so Tmoons,

just to make certain I found your posts on the Flying Brick forum and have put a note on there as well.
10% OFF the website listed price. please don't forget you must add UK vat - however, even that is now lower!! [ 15% ]. Laughing

BTW - NO UK vat applicable to USA orders.

I'll check out carriage from the UK.

Hi John,

thanx for your confidence in the product - I can assure you it's well founded. Wink

I started out with the "stock" RAM K11 shock and I am just waiting for my Hi-Po unit to arrive. I'll be able to give a direct back to back [ honest and unbiased ] then. Cool I have pre-sold the stock RAM item to a buddy who was going to order one anyway after he rode my bike. Cool

OK John - next step. I'll pass your comments on to AC at Realm so he is alerted to you being a bone-fide club member [ to get the discount ]. He'll send you an invoice and you can pay via Credit Card [ Jim - how did you do yours?]. Please remember the Hi-Po shox are hand assembled and take approx 7 days turnaround rather than 48 hrs.

With the Hi-Po shock the all up bike / rider weight is irrelevant as the shock will cope with all ranges.

BTW - the Hi-Po shock has the ability [ Owrstrich Laughing ] to be upgraded or downgraded 10% from the stock settings. Yet another plus feature.

ATB

Yes ideedy, just used CC / Visa #....

HA made you look! Surprised

Adrian can use a couple of types, but they need international clearance.

Was nice & easy, no stress, no mess. BAM! Shock the next week.

It took me longer to wax it than it did to assemble and mount it on the bike. But I repeat myself.

Hi Beau,

Adrian has cc'd your mail to me. Wink

Please see my new posting about initial order enquiries direct to me.

AC feels that this will speed the initial requirement - type of shock, length, etc.

Then I will cc AC the details and he will send an invoice direct to you and you pay him via an International credit card - NOT American Express - sorry. Embarassed

Probably best to PM me to save cluttering up the forum.

Just send me the order details quoting the shock number from theri website and let me know about rider weight / riding style etc. and I'll forward the details for actioning. Laughing

Then you can enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it has not been said already, thanks a ton for providing a quality product to our boys.

Nothing like a new shock, ranks up with a seat in the "instantly noticed" upgrades.

If I was going to keep my KLT I would consider one. (I sold the Works already in anticipation of selling the bike)

Thanx for the kind words OTG,

It's a result knowing that I've been able to persuade a major manufacturer to get off their ass and do something for their customers! Wink

Of course I did have a bit of a big stick in as much as I do Engineering Design Consultancy [ sports car ] for them [Realm] ! Cool

I'm working on the guys that supply the Hi-Po ignition wires next!

In the UK a set of STOCK OEM plug wires [ leads ] is £98.00 !

Crazy when a set of Hi-Po leads for C Type Jags [ 7 wires ] is only £125.00 Twisted Evil

All helps to drive down the cost of riding and offsetting what those eejit bank corporations are wasting!

Just a headsup guys -

just had a ride out to Realm today - lovely blue skies and 15 degrees temp.[ centigrade ].

Had a long chat with AC about the way the shox have een received, and he is sufficiently confident with the numbers being ordered that he has now ordered Red and Yellow springs for stock alongside the Black. That means no waits in future for the alternative spring colour - unless a different spring poundage is required.

The new special top fixing bolts are in stock, and all looking good down there.

Ahhh, all is well in the World

Has anyone else gotten their RAM shock yet, or word that it has shipped? I had an email saying they would ship later last week and an inquiry for a phone number, but no notice of shipment.

Maybe we overwhelmed them with orders!

Steve,

I was thinking the same thing. We must have swamped them. I am just a couple of hours short of having my K back on the road. Would be nice if the shock arrived soon.

Hi Guys,
all the shox have been sent out - the carriers quote 7 - 10 days.

Negotiations are under way with new carrier to bring the time and costs down - should be with you soon

Thanks for the follow up TJ, I didn't want to bug them too much, I know it's not their main gig.

I can't wait to get mine, it's all that's left of my lengthy spring refurb. (that and a new battery for my built-in BMW key light!)

Steve, John and others -

I'M HERE TO BE BUGGED ON REALM'S BEHALF!

Please do not hesitate to contact me for ANY queries now or after you have shock.

AC is a very old business associate and FRIEND - he knows I am capable of handling queries on his behalf - he should do, I consulted on several of the cars!

I am semi retired now and have much more time than he does to deal with queries and general shooting the breeze. Plus, he is a CAR man, I'm the one that knows bikes [ a bit anyway ].

If there's something I really cannot deal with, I pass it on to AC.

Realm office staff deal with all the actual commercial side - invoices, payments, etc.

So - please feel free to contact me any time, I'm always within 24 hours of a response.

I'd appreciate a headsup when you do receive the shox as AC wants to monitor the carrier's performance [ or not! ]

ATB
