Yeah, LOOKS showroom "fresh". But 18 years with just about NO use...
IMHO after the new owner puts a few hundred miles on it there could be several fluids leaking out of multiple seals and gaskets. Not to mention brake fluid GOOP, sticky brake calipers, dried out grease on the clutch output shaft, VERY dried out tires, etc....... And the sellers may tell you about temperature controlled storage, blah, blah, blah- but my thoughts are about how much could potentially be spent on bringing it back to good riding condition.
But someone will end up buying it and probably ride it (as is) for a couple thousand miles a year, not see several leaks and have fun- because ignorance really is bliss. _________________ John & Cathy

What is it about bikes with the pearl white paint job? Somebody buys them and then they don't ride them for years........ so what gives.
Is there some bad carma with pearl white? _________________ Ride safe.

I agree. I think the bike is simply unsafe to ride as is.
I'd rather buy a bike which had been ridden at least 1000 miles each year and had its fluids changed regularly despite the (low) mileage. I would not pay more than $2000 for this bike.

I was also thinking that there will probably be all kinds of dried out stuff and leaks and issues. I'd rather have a well kept, low mileage bike that actually got used.
When I found mine, it had been sitting for 8 months and the local BMW shop mechanic told me that it might very well have some dried out gaskets, seals, etc... "These bikes don't like to sit" he told me. _________________ Steve

I'd probably ride it as far as to load it on a trailer, but that's about it.
Wasn't there one for sale a while back that was still in the crate unassembled? _________________ Ride safe.

It's a damned good bike if you ask me. Either for a collector who doesn't plan to ride it or for someone willing to put in the effort to replace all of the rubber bits, fuel injectors and fuel pump.
And at least you know it's got good splines. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
