As another member has posted thier fix it list I thought I would bore you all with mine too Confused

Things to buy:
1. An original toolkit.
2. An original red top box, the panniers are there but i had to fit a Kappa box. and it looks sh*te.
3. Crash bars
4. New armchair seat probably a Corbin
5. Beer belly rest.

Things to do:
1. Find out why she smells a bit rich and smokes
2. Get the fuel guage working sort of accuratly
3. Change tyres to BT45's
4. A good clean and polish
5. Find out why if I pull off in a gear thats a little too high the bike rattles

Wont start till I am home again as I am currently in a place in the middle east that I cant mention especially if the americans are reading this LOL

Check your main fairing bracket for breaks where it bolts to the frame:

Great reply, had me laughing for ages.

Why the Michelins? Ive had great experiences with the BT45's but if you think the Michelins are better then I will give them a try.

Unfortunatly I cant stop jacking off while I ride, The BM is just soooooo sexy Smile

I rode the K11LT for about 200 miles while I was at home then got on to the CX turbo. IT FELT LIKE A TRACTOR......OMG!!!

Wound up the revs, turbo cut in and had to pray i wouldnt get to a corner toooo quickly. Its the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Just like riding a 140 mph 2 stroke, but after the BM its got to go. Its been a money pit and I cant afford the time to keep repairing it.

Anyway, thanks for keeping me entertained.

BTW, are your breasts so big you need to rest them on the tank??

Naw, just plain 'ol D's but I have an odd long distance riding postion.

I'm only 5'4" FWIW so for interstate crusing, I hook my boots over the rear pegs, slide my butt back, bend and tuck my elbows against the tank sides and rest the chin of my helmet on the tank bag.

It's very comfortable and I can ride like that for hours on end.

I can't imagine sombody as tall as abreeze or klinker can manage that postion for long.

To start with, although BMW recommends bias ply tires for K1100LTs I've found that my LT handles much much better on radial tires. The first radials I tried were Avon Azaros. I didn't instantly notice the difference because I hadn't been riding a lot lately.

I rode on the Azaros from Seattle to San Francisco down the coast. (about 1200 miles - LOTS of twisties.) The front Azaro had some funky wear when I reached San Francisco so I switched back to Michelin Mac 50 bias ply tires. Then I rode down the rest of the coast. This gave me the opportunity to ride both radial and bias ply back to back. On the bias ply tires the rear end would wallow in high speed turns - whereas the radials felt very solid.

When I got the bike back home I started researching radials. The PR2s seem to get excellent reviews in most forums as well as some impressive mileage. It seemed like a win-win.

Unfortunately, (I forgot this on my earlier post) the PR2 does not come in the right size for an LT rear wheel. I'd always wanted to run a wider RS rear wheel so I did that and am now running PR2s front and rear and LOVING it.

A few others here, due to the PR2 not being available for the LT rear, run a PR2 front and an Avon Azaro rear and are also quite happy so that might be something to look into.

Bot hof those tires get impressive mileage and make a huge difference in handling. I'd recommend giving it a shot.

Thanks for the tyre advice.

Will a K100RS rear wheel just fit right in? There is a 1994 RS one on fleabay right now. Would it fit my 93?

As i dont have access to my bike at the moment, could someone please post the LT and RS tyre sizes?

Yes, but you have to take off the exhaust system to get it on and off. The R1100RT wheel is the same part # as the RS, also. Scored one on EBay yesterday for $49.99. I almost came on here to ask what was wrong with it but someone probably would have bid it up. Very Happy
