My front tire with less than 3,000 miles with 12 psi
after riding home from work today.
I assumed if I rode to work every day that the air pressure didn't need to be check'ed everytime i took it for a ride. so how often should I check it.
once a week??

once a month??

I check it mileage base since you're riding regularly. Every 250 miles should be fine. Check oil level and clutch adjustment at same time.

If you cannot feel a differance of that much air pressure loss, you need to check every time you put the key in the ignition.
If I myself do not put a gauge on the tire before riding, I push it off the center stand while on the bike, see how it feels. I look down at the tires, check the signals, try the brakes. Just part of the pre-ride.
I do this second part even when just going on an errend. If the bike get's turned off, the routine get's repeated when turned back on.
Lot's won't belive it, but I've found on my 93 RS, I can tell a cold tire difference of 3 PSI on the front tire.
I've been currently running the front at max of 42 and the back at 39 PSI.

If you don't want to install a tire pressure monitor, you need to check it every time you ride. We don't want to loose you.
It could have picked something up and lost that air rather suddenly, but who knows.

i set my tire pressure before every ride... which is typically every saturday morning...

michelin pr2s... 42psi f 42 psi r...

the front looses about 3 pounds in a week... the rear seldom looses any pressure...

i would consider telling her to shut the f up and get me another beer...

then i would take out the trash... groom the lawn... detail her car... do her laundry... vacuum the house... plant a pineapple tree... and... consider telling her to shut the f up and get me another beer...

Just checked the rear tire and it has 30 psi;
should be 42 psi, the stem is cracked and old but the tire is 3 months old. They should have replaced it along with the tire...
So I checked the front bad tire and the stem is new.. Looking for someone else to blame but me.. Not working out so good.. Still my fault but now I have to make them replace the rear valve stem for free.. Do you think I should pull the rear tire off or make them?

I don't know who "they" are, but it probably depends partly on what they think of you, and partly what kind of service you'd like to get from them in the future... Remember - you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar...

I check every time before a ride, early in the morning.
And the pressure:

1-up: 32 psi front and 36 psi rear.
2-up: 36 psi front and 42 psi rear.

A wise man once said...

Chaulk it up to expierence and ask them to replace it at a reasonable charge. I just had a new front tire mounted but did not ask for a new stem, nor expected one.

Ok not like a car tire,, You don't always get a new stem.
I will ask them if they will cut me a break after they put my new ft tire on the wheel. I might get lucky.

I use Start tire, but they are no longer available for M/C.

PS you can still buy them out of Canada I think.

You might look at this...

If you have a wheel and tire in good condition and properly mounted, you shouldn't have to check every day. My tires lost almost no air during the three months I didn't ride this winter.

Am I going to regret saying that?

Have the rear tire off and I'm going to take it to the place that put the tire on the wheel with the receipt. I hope they don't charge me Sad Sad
If they do I may take my front tire somewhere else

It's a hell of a lot cheaper to use a tire gauge - unless you just don't have time for that... and you have some disposable income.

You should check weekley if you ride every day and you have apressure problem then I susspect that the Tyre is not sealing to the rim. Looks like you will have solved the problem now as you are going to get new tyre and valve anyway
