| I have a code 7 on my ABS. I have read that it can be fixed. How? |

Mike:
a) Check the voltage on your battery. Marginal batteries can fault ABS brains.
b) If your battery is good there may still be hope. Find the diagnostic plug (three leads with a blue cap on it) - shove a wire into the middle one, ground the other end, turn the bike on and hold the ABS switch down for 20 seconds. (Just today I suggested this to a guy in Spokane and his ABS brain came back to life.)
c) Since you're local, if you bring me a 6-pack of Heineken, you can bring it by my place and I will do what I can to help. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

| I have a new battery. When I have cleared the fault like you suggested it lasts for a day then comes back on. But I may take you up on the Heineken. |

This sounds suspicious to me. Either the brain is bad or it isn't from my experience. Perhaps there's a wiring harness/bad connection issue involved. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Code 5 is battery, Code 7 is alleged to be a fried unit. I changed an ABS1 brain for a code 7 fault, then sold the bike for an ABS 2 model.
As you can clear your fault, it aint terminal yet. I tend to agree with FD, look for a bad connection somewhere. Code 7 is given for any fault that doesn't fit into any known category.
