I have bid on this a little but am reluctant to go higher without some feedback here. Anyone have this bag? Do you like it?
I hope I haven't been bidding against one of you.

Looks like the standard BMW bag. Pricey when new.
I'm not crazy about the look, particularly the way it cuts the knee pads in half.
YMMV. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

I think that's pretty good shape price value right now.
If you win it and hate it, I'd consider it.
It'll probably go for over a hundred though. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

Works good - lasts a long time - I agree on the over $100 part.
Do you have the clips on sides of tank already for mounting? _________________ Dave Norris KOG 248

Last time I checked with Motobins they were going for around $275 new with the frame clips. _________________ Ride safe.

Looks like a nice tank bag. I have the same one. Make sure the all of the zippers have pull tabs. One of mine broke off. _________________ 2000 R1100RT

Hi, All,
WHOA, everyone!! While the BAGS are the same, the BASES are different for the K75/100 vs K1100. The clips on the K75/100 fit on the tank seams; the clips on the K1100 fit onto a special tab which is bolted to the tank. Looking at the pictures, I think this tank bag is for a K75/100. If you want to mount it onto your K1100, MAKE SURE it will work! I don't know if the K75/100 clips will fit onto a K1100 tank seams. _________________ Ride Safe,

Excellent Jim.
A tankbag is one of those things that you don't think you need.
Use it for a while and you will wonder how you ever got along without one.
It looks like you got a smokin' deal. GREAT!
BTW, here comes Bike Week. Get those earplugs ready.

I concur! I almost never go out on either bike without a tank bag. I have a multivario for the K and a tourmaster magnetic for the Honda. They're just too handy to do without! _________________ Paul - '93 K11/12RS (sold), 2002 R1100S BCP and '03 RC51 KOG 29 |

Yes, Phil. it would be nice if the seller bothered to read the bike designations on the base when listing it. The tanks are the same but it doesn't work on K1100s because the K1100 side covers go all of the way up to the knee pads so the K75/K100 hooks won't work.
If any of you guys ever bid on a tank bag be sure to send the seller a question and ask them what is stamped on the base. If it's a K1100 bag then ask if the hooks that attach to the tank are included.
The worst thing about the Multivario used to be the narrow width of the map window however with the advent of GPS that issue becomes moot. I still put maps in mine though. I keep my radar detector in the map pocket and if I get pulled over I don't want the LEO to see it. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

If that's the case for the bases then I must have 2 of the 75/100 bases on my 1100's. They use the formed wire hooks that clip to the tank seem behind the side covers. They did fit on my 2 bikes, not exactly the same, but non-theless they did fit and they look just fine. _________________ Ride safe.

Believe it or not Bike Week is fairly quiet around here. The noisiest days are when cars are practicing but nobody's in the stands. _________________ Jim

Never having been to "Bike Week" I always thought that the racing was the reason to go. Odd that what actually started Bike Week has now become a minor player.
Guess the primary "event" is slow rolling, hanging from the apes, gawking and being gawked at plus beer and tatoos.
Now that I think about it, why would those people want to see fast bikes anyway? Not trying to be a smart a$$- but I can't imagine most of the Weirs Beach crowd hurrying home to watch World Superbike.
Got to look at the racing schedule for NHIS for w/e of the 20th. _________________ John & Cathy

John you should ride down during bike week and we'll ride our brace of K1100s into the fray. Bring your camera! _________________ Jim
