G'day all
Here's hoping that all you guru's can help me.
I just purchased a set of Oxford Heated Grips for my K1100LT. Fitting them up will be no problem, running the wiring the same. However what I would like to do is run the positive lead into the fuse box so the grips are run through the ignition side, (turned on/off by the ignition).
So, therefore where do I hook it up to?
I am thinking that there is a spare fuse, or maybe a plug already fitted to the bike. If so, then I can use that and not worry about tapping into another power sorce.
Thanks guys and girls. _________________ Ride safe

Does your bike already have heated grips?
If not, there should be a plug under the fuel tank that you could connect to for that purpose, already fused and such. _________________ Ride safe.

Hi Scott
No, my bike does not have heated grips. I think there maybe a connection that I can tap into.
Not sure what it looks like and which is the power. _________________ Ride safe

Looking at the schematic that I have here, you will have a BROWN wire for the earth/ground, and the hot fused wire should be GREEN with a BLACK stripe. _________________ Ride safe.

And if memory serves me, each wire has a small round connector. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

"T" connector with short wires under the tank near the left frame rail about halff way back. It's powered by the #1 switched fuse. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
