Hello All,
I am now the proud owner of a K1100rs. I got it a couple of weeks ago and am loving it. I go to Milwaukee from Chicago most weekends and now enjoy the trip. I have been riding a Vespa for a couple of years and I am having to show some restraint with the old right hand. The bike is a '93 and had about 20,000 on it ( now showing 22,000). It has the normal issues, leaky forks, hot as hell in traffic etc, but it is the nicest bike I have ever owned.
I enjoy this site a lot and have learned many useful tricks already, thanks owstrich for the Johnny blanket idea, works great. I promise to have a picture of good food in my next post.
Simon. |

Beautiful bike Simon, that color is my favorite.
Get yourself a pair of fork gaiters and never worry about leaky seals again. Also a fan switch will help tons with the heat.
I see you have the coveted BFD, but it is offset by that hideous seat, which looks like an elephant with a yeast infection sat on it.

Nice ride!!! Cool color too. The moto brick masters here wil tell you mystic red is faster, don't believe it for a minute.
I'm in Hales Corners and work for a printing company in the area.
PM me and maybe we could share lunch someday. U pick the place and I can get there. I have liberal hours mostly.
OTG comes up with the best comparisons for stock seats.
He's wicked jealous of the BFD on a K11. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

Thanks for all the kind comments, and the seat will go soon, I promise, although it is growing on me . I will also get some progressive springs asap.
As for the Roof helmet, I'm a Limey so I have connections and got it very cheap . The helmet is very light and quiet and obviously very cool looking. The top vents don't do much except whistle if open. I like the seat belt style clasp and the visor stays open at any height. I've had a Nolan, Kbc, Shoei, Agv, and bell helmets and this is the best, in my opinion. There is a good review of it on Webbikeworld, it's called the diversion.
Owrstrich, here is the food pic I promised, it's about $18.00 and if you can eat it in twenty minutes it's free. My friend who is a fat greedy bastard rugby player couldn't do it. You can get it at Mario’s Cafe Bar, Market street, Westhoughton, England.
