Well, after first riding a K75RT, then A K1100LT, i got myself a R1150RTP two years ago. I rode it quite a lot, but came to dislike the boxer engine and it's frequent tune up's.
I rode on a friends K1100LT and decided that I loved the engine but was not too fond of the frame and roadholding.
so what to get (on a limited budget, I may add)

A ex police 2004 K1200RS, that's what!

with the electric windshield (very limited range, though), higher fairing and the lovely 130 HP engine, this should make me forget my boxer woes..

Good to ride a K again!

do decommissioned police bikes come with salvage titles?

and those are both really nice bikes!

HI, supercat1,
I have no idea how they title bikes in the Netherlands, where Daniel is. He will probably tell you. I do know that my '95 K75RTP has a normal title and had nothing on the previous title denoting it was an ex-police bike. There was one owner between me and the police dept., though, and the police dept. was somewhere in KS. The previous owner was in MO and I'm in (and the bike is now titled in) TX.

Hi, Supercat1,
I, too, thought there was some designation on the title if the vehicle was ex-police or ex-taxi. My title had no such designation. My bike does have holes where lights and the radio antenna were removed. It also has the switches and wiring for the special equipment still on the bike. There could be a situation, say, the bike was not actually a police bike, but was owned by a funeral escort service or something like that. I don't know. The PO said it was a police bike from somwewhere in KS which was used sparingly over the years for escort duty. That makes sense, as the bike is a '95 K75RT and only had 14962 miles on the odometer when I picked up the bike.

In the netherlands, there is no designation on the title to show a bike was goverment owned or similair.
exeption to this are vehicles of the military, which have military registrations and titles. When these are sold the bike or car must be registered again. Since the Dutch military police is switching from K1100LT to Yamaha FJR1300's, there are a lot of older K1100's around with fresh titles.

Well, welcome back to the 4-cyl horizontal con-rod fold. Should be good for another couple 100K.

Just out of curiosity do people get out of your way when they see you coming up behind them in their rear view?
