Please see updated pricing info in my November 7th post on the fourth page of this thread, the one after the hot dog pictures.
I just ordered a pair of the J O special XLO lights to bugeye my motobrick forks. The gentleman who sells these also has a five lot of the XSL.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lot-of-5-CATZ-FET-XSL-FOG-LIGHTS-Gold-Free-PIAA-stkr_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2302b268d5QQitemZ150369102037QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
Checking to see if anyone else is interested. I would buy them and then ship the lights out from Seattle, possible delivery to Portland, Spokane, Moscow, Idaho, not Russia, and Vancouver BC or any points between these and Seattle.
The cost would be $48 plus shipping to where ever you might like them sent as compared to $64 plus shipping if bought direct. (edit:If we get enough buyers for two lots of lights the price will be something less than $48. More info in a post on the second page.)
I've asked for some extra sweetener from the seller and he said he would see what he could do and would get back to me, most likely extra bulbs at a very good price. He would also be willing to switch out bulbs if you want amber or another color.
Let me know here or by pm.
Fighting the darkness one bugeye at a time!
The buy list so far:
Getlunch 2 sets + 2 pair amber spares, one pair clear spares
Flying Duck/ 1 set + 1 pair amber spares
skdonlan/ 2 sets + 2 pairs of amber spares
miKeinWIs/ 1 set + 1 pair amber spares
Sonu/ 1 set + spares?(let me know what you want and address for shipping in a PM)

My understanding of the difference between the XSL(Extra Super Light) and the XLO(Extra Light Oval) is the shape of the bulb and the beam patterns, XSL is 75 degrees and the XLO is 90 degrees. This also means a longer throw on the beam of the XSL.
I'm not a lighting expert but I can play one on the web.
90 degrees and wider= fog lights
75 degrees=fog/driving lights
35-50 degrees=driving lights
<35 degrees=spot/pencil beams
I've asked Jeff(Catz light seller) for clarification and how sweet of a deal we can get if we buy ten as group.
So far on the buy list:
getlunch/no swap/amber bulbs
Flying Duck/amber bulbs
skdonlan/amber bulbs
miKeinWIs
Sonu/amber bulbs _________________ Rand

I'll go for it for $48+.
At least the pieces should go into a small USPS mailing box for ease of shipping.
Thanks

We've reached five. If you're still interested, chime in, we may come up with enough for a second lot. I will buy the first five this weekend and ask Jeff(Catz seller) what kind of price deal he will give any of us ordering replacement bulbs, may be 2 for 1. Later this weekend I'll post the page Jeff sent me with various bulb options.
K11OG may soon be short for K11OrbitalGlow. _________________ Rand

Roger that Lunch, let us know what you need, when you need it.
Side discussion, what would be the difference in "Gold" vs. "Amber"? _________________ Steve

$$$$$$$$
Seriously though, about the only thing I could think of would be someone's interpetation of the color. They can get technical with the color kelvin # but I think that anything in the "orangish" band of color is good. _________________ Ride safe.

the xlo amber has an actual amber lens... it glows orange and getts you that super bright orange glow that getts the attention of others...
the xlo gold has a clear lens with a gold coating... it glows white... the gold is supposed to help cut through the fog...
i have the xlo blue for deer finders... just like the gold... the lens is clear with a blue coating... they glow white... the blue is supposed to help cut through the fog...
xlo = 70w bulbs... xsl = 50w bulbs...
shows the blue lens glowing white...
the gold lens glowing white...
if you are looking for that orange glow that getts the attention of inattentive drivers... you gotts to get the xlo amber...
just like the fox news channel... i report... you decide...

Hey getlunch,
I think the best "extra" would be to swap out the xls bulb with an xlo bulb. The whole point of this thing is to be seen and the extra 20W of the xlo is a big deal to me.

getlunch: The listing says we can choose what bulb type we want - mix'n'match. I'd like to go with amber. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I'm still a little confused on the color thing. I thought the "gold" referred to the lens color, not the bulb(?), so that the other colors would be a different color lens.
So is the "amber" a bulb color or a lens color? Would it glow "amber" like JO's XLO's? In his product description, it just says other "colors", but only mentiond a white bulb or one with a gold tinting. I'm thinking they all have a "white" light, and the different colors are created by the lens color. _________________ Steve
