After meeting JO and Micki Saturday night to watch the Sprint Car Nationals:

I met up with crazy JO for a nice Sunday afternoon of 80 degree riding in SoCal motoheaven:

Traffic was light, the roads were smooth and gravel-free. An idyllic day. Here's JO sweeping his way down to Borrego Springs:

And here he is on his way back up:

Then came the Yeti sighting:

Johnny had found a blue motobrick in the area on Craig's List. He wanted to stop by and take it for a test ride. It was a bit small for him:

There was some sort of alien craft behind me. I think those orange things are phaser beams. Shocked

A perfect day, yes, but one made all the more perfect knowing that our fearless leader was all the while saving jobs, the economy, healthcare, the country, world peace, the planet and, indeed, the very future of all mankind. (Not to mention polar bears.)

Here's JO grinding the pegs off of the motoheap on the way up to Palomar:

The sun was waning now and it was time to sweep our way down East Grand Road and off to our home bases:

That is all...

Half of that bike is armoured. Looks great, nice and shiny black.

It's Linex-X, a competitor of Rhino and supposedly better. It's kind of like epoxy and sprayed from a 2-nozzle gun by a Line-X shop, then cures in about 5 minutes. It's holding up quite well and looks all nice and shiny and black.

(On one of my prior bikes I tried doing the belly pan in some rattle-can stuff from Duplicolor. Didn't last more than a few miles. Worthless.)

I had more than the mirrors done:

Mirrors
Belly pan
Bottom part of the rear half of the front fender
Gas Cap
Tank knee pads
Tail cowl handles
Sides cases
35 liter top case

Here it is in all it's shiny goodness:
