He's under the mistaken impression that it's in better shape than it is because of the low mileage.

Case in point: despite climate controlled conditions and less than 2000 miles, the brake lines need replacing.

Also, note how yellowed the windscreen is.

I have some doubts about the mileage claim.
Check out the grimy final drive. The seal has been leaking. The cam covers should look a lot better if it's never even been washed. The kill switch assemble looks like it's seen a lot of outside weather.
I bought the identical motorcycle in '85. They were notorious for the speedo failing. I doubt if many made it out of warranty without having the instrument pod replaced (with zero miles showing).
The guy is dreaming and, I believe, misleading potential buyers.

Damn - big garage! There does seem to be a spot on the floor under the final drive...

I don't have any problem with the odometer or the price... but I sure don't think I'd buy it even if I had the money - #1 at Seaver is cheaper...

Man, all the whacko's are out in force, either that or my K-bike is gaining value like gold.

Check out this kook,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-K-Series-RS-1993-BMW-K1100-RS_W0QQitemZ250518114872QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_motorcycles?hash=item3a540b1238

It's apparently only had one oil change (only 9k miles), has tip over damage and he just found out the ABS doesn't work, so he "adjusted" the price to compensate, to $6,000 for a 17 year old bike with damage and no ABS! Based on that, mine must be worth at least $5,000! Any takers?

$8k does seem a bit high but it looks like a nice bike. If'n yer a collector that's a great specimen.

If you're buying a bike to ride... different story.

Suppose he doesn't have any more bikes, as the trailer is included for the same price.

I tend to agree with Don, something doesn't smell right here. Even my '95 with 65K doesn't have that much grime on the f.d. The buttons don't look that faded either and it sits outside everyday at work.

Maybe he should have washed it. Smile

He's lowered the priced a whopping $500 to $5500.

Now it won't start!?!!

I guess he didn't get the $6,000 he was asking. Rolling Eyes

I think I'll "ask the seller a question", like what brand of crack he's smoking!
