Just stoppin in to say Howdy.
My name is John and I'm a motorcycle-aholic and have been since a very young age. I currently own 3 bike's and am constantly looking for the next to occupy some space in the garage.
I currently own A 93 BMW K1100LT, a 85 BMW K100 and a 79 Honda CB 750 Limited.
I just got the 93 so I will be looking it over and looking for advice on parts and equipment to make her mine. Look forward to meeting as many of you as possible over the years to come.
Let's see if this works (pic of the 93)

We can argue the best year part even tho I have a 93. There is alot to say for ABS2 compared to ABS1. But it is for sure he has the best year for the K100. The 1985 had been called FYK Finest year K by the great Don E of NJ. I do love the 93 LT but like most including Jersey Johns K11LT the ABS brains are wearing out and getting costly to replace. John I was going to buy the bike and the only reason I didnt was the ABS. I tow a camper with my K11LT and with out the ABS working I really have to watch the trailer does not push the rear end around on me if I accidently lock the rear wheel. Also thanks for accepting me as a friend on Face book. Feel free to keep in touch there as well as here. _________________ Ron

Not really. I've got both and prefer the ABS I. The ABS II kicks in sometimes when it shouldn't. I've never had the ABS I do that.
In addition, the ABS I makes spline lubing much easier. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Better to kick in somtimes when it should not then to never kick in at all. _________________ Ron

Seriously, the ABS I seems to perform better to me. They seem to be equally "chunky" when engaged and the ABS I has less (none so far) false positives.
(And I don't have a dog in this fight as I've got both. Just sharing my experience/opinion.)
IMO, the biggest downside of the ABS I vs. II is the brain failure rate but I've got a good backup brain that I scored on eBay for $99 so that's not a big issue to me. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

At least there is an outlet for the ABS I brains to be repaired now if one so chooses. Not so with the ABS II,.....yet anyway. _________________ Ride safe.

Hello John,
I am not too far away. I live part time in South Jersey, and in Saint Clair, PA. I cruise RT78 very much, so of course I go by Easton. Perhaps we can get a ride in.
I have, a 93 K1100LT (red)
Cheers, and come on spring!
