Ron,

Might be discounted because the 2010 model has some needed updates- most important engine heat management to reduce rider broiling (sounds familiar?) plus heated grips and traction control.

Anything to add, Mick?

John

Totally off-topic here but yes, the mirrors were moved up to block the wind from your hands, adding to the comfort of the new infinitely variable heated grips. New spec BT021 U rubber front and rear made a big difference in the way the bike handles. Mine came from the factory with the old spec front BT021 and I destroyed that in under 3K miles. The new , correct, front tire was mounted last week by the dealer and it's a whole new bike in the twisties. Smile They also added a REAL locking glove box on the top of the left fairing. No more el-cheapo plastic mini-glove box at the front of the fuel tank. Enhanced economy mode setting that leans the fueling to give you 25% better fuel mileage when you need to stretch a tank. I don't have a problem with the 5.8Gal tank since I've been living with 5.2Gal for a long time. You can select the ECONOMY mode on the fly with the new trigger switch on the left grip. You can also access all the functions of the on-board computer via that new trigger switch. Overall, they made a LOT of good improvements. Glad I waited so long to buy one.

Mick

Yeah, besides, it's ALL rider dependant. Razz
Guy my age I know has a Connie, he always calls it that & I'm thinking he's talking about a dog or sumthin. Razz
He can't ride for spit and is amazed at my old K, which is newer to me.

I'm just jealous of course. Wink I'd have one of those too or something like it if I could. But then, when you can't have everything you want, you gotta be selective. Razz

Sorry to all, I didn't mean to spin it that way, honest. It just came out. Rolling Eyes

First, many thanks to Drake and Mick for all their help.

Took the fuel pump out and soaked it in fuel injector cleaner. Each morning I'd dry it out a bit and try it.....nothing for the first few days but yesterday I heard a couple clicks.....Another overnight soak and a few more clicks this morning and then the clog came loose.....made my day.....

Just finished putting it all back together and she runs just fine.

Thanks again. Time to go somewhere!

MickO

Very Happy

Good to hear. Run 6 oz of Techron Concentrate through the next couple of tanks. Won't hurt and will make your fuel injectors happier.

Thanks Drake....will run some fuel injector cleaner through the next couple tanks...

Also, after Mick's visit, decided to put a firm surface down the middle of my drive as it's hazardous to bikes with the loose rocks and such. Next project is gravel, sand and pavers....

Cheers,

MickO

Got it from Ironhorse. I'd prefer not to have to get back into the gas tank anytime soon......

Cheers,

UH OH. Guess I have to add that to my new parts list. I could tell you what I have connecting gas tank to throttle bodies, but then I would have to kill you.... Laughing

John,
I'll never tell. The cheapie fuel line is rated at 50psi and will
work just great until there is a slight blockage in the filter. That
funny little fuel pump can make 100psi in a hurry. Sad
