O.K. Mister Wizard, how does that compare with an RS diameter? Shocked [/quote]

PR2's front and rear on an LT with the stock rims. 110/80ZR-18 on the front and 150/70ZR-17 on the rear. Trust me it works very well. I have just under 7,000 miles with this setup and still going strong.

I believe the good Dr Malacarne is also running this setup on his LT...

I have the Avon Azaro on the rear and the piliot road on the front on my LT. I really love those tires!

Well, that 'splains it. I didn't see quite that much difference but I made a bonehead move. Compared the old worn out tire to the spiffy new one. Duh!

Looks like my speedo will be off and additional 2%. I can live with that.

I run RS wheels on my LT with bridgstone BT020's at the moment, they seem to wear a lot better that BT021's that were on my RS, they actually stay round instead of going flat.

well folks, you've collectively proven your worth. I took the recomends here and snagged the PR2 for the front and the Avaro for the back.
When the Drake says HUGE difference, trust him!!! as my friend from Japan would say HUGE BIG.

I now concur will all observations; smoother along the road, won't follow cracks and other pavement deformations, feels a little more sqirrelly riding staight up, like your on a razor's edge, but still VERY stable; but WOW, that this little momma LOVE the turns now -- just lays right into them and tracks right thru!!!!!

Thanks to all who responded.

please check out this that i posted.

http://www.k11og.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7006&highlight=

i need to post pic's but still baffled on the tech side.

after this failure i will suggest this .
A= the bikes can make a lot of heat on the tires due to speed
B= the bike can carry alot of wieght + it's size
C=run flat.

total = a Radial built tire will hold up better last longer and you can run flat if need to so that you can get to safe spot to pull over and fix the tire

I too am getting ready to make the switch from the Mac 50's to radials. I am considering the PR2 front and rear.

Are they still working for you, Old Guy Old Bike?

Still working for me. Just ordered a new set from Motorcycle Superstore. $256.98 for the set, with free shipping. That's a good bit less than I paid last year.

Cool, thanks. Any thoughts about going with the 120/70 18 front tire?

I wouldn't do that switch. The rear tire is shorter already and then adding a taller front may end up having an effect on handling. I have also heard some people have had clearance issues with the switch.
