Yep- here we go. Another ride has stolen me away.
Before it goes on consignment at the Kaw dealer, K11OG gets the first shot. VERY well sorted and looks great. I do not ride anything that doesn't look and run as it should. Some of you have seen it in person, others know the bike through pictures posted here.
Parts/upgrades:
New PR2's (here but not mounted yet)
Aeroflow tall windshield
Ram shock
Eastern Beaver headlight relays
Throttlemeister
Manual fan switch
Top box with liner
Original side bags with bungees
Clymer manual
Stainless lower fairing screws
lots of extra small parts
Maintenance:
new clutch, rear engine seal and O-ring- 2009
oil change every 3000+/- miles
brake fluid flush- 2010
new brake pads- 2009
trans and final drive change to synthetic- 2009
coolant change- 2010
valves checked (15 within spec, 1 @ -.001)- 2010
new fork seals and oil plus fork gaiters- 2009
new sparkplugs- 2010
new O2 sensor- 2009
timing chain cover sealed- 2010
oil/water pump sealed- 2010
gas filter changed- 2009
new monkey nuts- 2009
new oil pressure sensor- 2008
TB's sync'd- 2010
front brake switch- 2008
clutch switch- 2009
Probably more that I have forgotten about.
Everything works as intended. ABS, lights, shifting, heated grips, gauges, etc. It truly needs nothing- this has to be one of the better RS bricks out on the road. Just turned 50,000 miles.
That's it.
More pictures if you need. PM me if you have serious interest. $4750. 5-6 days from now it will be at the dealer on consignment.

I have seen and ridden this machine. It is BY FAR the cleanest example of an RS ever. If you re-read the HL thread I commented on it there.
Good luck with the sale John. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

WHAT THE #@#$!!?!?!
Does this mean I won't see this fine specimen of best year, best color, at HMIII?
Does this mean that a new Connie is in the works?
(Does this mean you'd be wiliing to sell me that Aeroflow???)
It breaks my heart to see you leave the K11 brotherhood, but I certainly understand, had I the funds, I've got my eye on several newer steeds.
Good luck with the sale! (and I'm serious about that Aeroflow!) _________________ Steve

Yup.
BTW, it is closer to a darker Mystic. Camera phones just can't cut it.
Let's see how the whole thing goes- I might think about a few parts coming off if it goes to the dealer on consignment. (I still store the Aeroflow in its original box) _________________ John & Cathy

Oh, the sweet color, that must be an '09?
If it goes to the dealer and you want to shed some parts, I also claim first dibs on that rear top box. _________________ Steve

I think we can count on John sticking around even without his KRS. I also have ridden this bike and can testify to it's value and the meticulous care John takes of it. _________________ Jim

I ain't going anywhere. Where else could I get this kind of entertainment.
Besides- with a local dealer (15 minutes away!) doing nearly all the work on a bike with a 3 year warranty, I'm gonna' ride, post here and plan HL2.

Nice looking bike, but the Aeroflow windshield ruins the styling. _________________ 2000 R1100RT

The Aero Flow is not all that intrusive. Looks better on a darker color bike I think. Much less visable in low lighting and so very much worth it on cold days. It was 28 degress here this monring in SE WI on my way to work and the AF makes all the differance.
Big bonus is it is easily removed. If it's staying over 45 degrees I take mine off as I like the breeze. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

I agree completely. I use it very little, if at all, in the warmer months. I really dislike the looks.
But (as jpberens also states) it makes riding for extended period at temps well below 30F possible on a RS. Also being at 75-80mph for a few hours isn't a wind tunnel deathmatch.
Just another tool, although a pretty ugly one. _________________ John & Cathy

I feel the same way about my Parabellum, it looks OK, but is incredibly functional. I leave it on year round as the previous owner crashed the bike and killed the original windshield, hence the Parabellum. _________________ 1997 K1100LT

Sure would like to see this bike stay among KOG membership, although when it sells we may have another brickzilla like arrival.
I would be willing to deliver to the west coast. _________________ Jim
