|
|
Still stripping down my buddy's accident bike. Taking the crash bars off to remove the lower fairings as they are hooked to the bar. There are 2 bolts on the bottom of each bar bolted to the frame but this top knurled nut has us baffled. How does it come off?

The plastic piece on the end comes off and you slip a socket with an extension into the crashbar to undo the nut. _________________ Rich

I can't remember if it's necessary but I use a deep well socket. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Don't think it's necessary. I had to tap (hammer) mine in, as the nut was rusted. Was amazed that I managed to recover my socket easily. _________________ Regards Tim,

BTW it's a 13mm deep well not recommended, you'll see why upon re-installation. _________________ 1993 K1100LT
