My tool kit has the shock wrench with the line on it for the k75, k100. I dont have the L shaped dipstick for the K11. Could someone measure theirs and let me know what the length is to the fill line. I'll make one from an allan wrench. Thanks _________________ 93 K11LT

Just use that. It's the same transmission. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I could use that measurment as well. Although I never had the factory shock spanner, My RAM shock came with a spanner with the level mark on it. But the wrench doesn't fit down in there quite properly (I thinki it's for a K100) and I had to measure on an allen wrench to get the proper level, what ever that figure was ?????. _________________ Steve

Guys, I tried the shock adjuster but it was too short to reach correct depth of 4.6" and was not useable.
I made an "L" shaped tool using a steel rod about the thickness of pencil lead. Stuck it in the tranny to the bottom and then bent it to an "L" and cut it. Next measured the full and min marks with a marker. Then I made permanent notches using a file. The MMs cited equate to 4.6" (FULL) to 5.1" (MIN-ADD).
Now you have a good measuring tool.

That's from the top of the fill hole to the fluid level, right? _________________ Steve

Your K75/K100 shock wrench doesn't work? That's what I use on my bikes. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Yes the measurements are from the top of the transmission filler hole.
I have a shock adjusting tool I have never used since I have WORKS shocks for my 1996 K1100LT _________________ 1996 K1100LT, 73K (bought at 61K on 2006)

I don't recall the specifics from last year, but, the RAM shock came with it's spanner wrench marked for the trans oil level, but for some odd reason, it doesn't fit properly down into the transmission (probably a slightly different shape), it only goes about a 1/3 of the way in before it bumps into something and then it won't give an accurate fluid level reading. So I just use a long metal rod and measure the level, that's why I needed a refresher on the measurement.
Oh, and by the way, I never have had the original spanner or tool kit. _________________ Steve

They come up occasionally on e-bay. Sometimes for reasonable price.
I picked up an extra one to have in the garage toolbox a while back for like $50. _________________ Ride safe.

My shock wrench does not have the notches on it. So I made one using and old white coat hanger and a sharpie. I have used it successfully now for the last 10 years. _________________ 1997 K1100LT
