G'day all Aussie's
Anyone thinking of going to the Ruptured Budgie Rally. 14-16 May 2010
I will be going on the Friday and looking forward to seeing if anyone else wants to make an appearance.
By the way, it will be good if we are all wearing our KOG t-shirts.

Not sure how it got it's name but suspect it may have something to do with the Moto Guzzi eagle emblem and a shortage of masking tape...:-

So the Ruptured Bulgie has something to do with way-overfilled bladders?
I looked at the Rally website and still have no clue............ _________________ John & Cathy

Apparently as Drikko said, the Qld Guzzi owners refer to the Guzzi eagle as the budgie. See also http://guzzista.wetpaint.com/page/The+Ruptured+Budgie+Rally
I guess those who are going are going to need to do some serious waterproofing on the Ks to get through the creek _________________ David, owner of:

Apparently the creek has been filled in for this year, eliminating that piece of entertainment unfortunately. _________________ K1100RS '97

So Frank and any others from Brisvegas here. I'm thinking of going to Rathdowney for an early lunch then down duck creek road to Kyogle, casino then across Bruxner hwy. Could have lunch at Kyogle if it suits better. I can't leave Samford till about 9.30 at the earliest unfortunately. Feel free to join up somewhere! Seeing as you are at the coast Frank, a Kyogle meet might be OK. _________________ K1100RS '97

G'day Derek
I am now going to leave on Friday after I get some sleep (working night shift). I will meet you there which is most likely the best option.
We will be past the main bonfire, continue past the big tree in the middle of the area and just past that on the left.
Look for my white trailer, blue T-Max and trailer, and you should find us.
Not sure about mobile coverage there.
See you there _________________ Ride safe

Frank,
I'll be at the rally Saturday morning. I'm riding down on Friday, but staying at my daughter's unit at Stanthorpe on Friday night. I take it you'll be camped in the same area as the past?
cheers,
Andrew |

Budgie, not bulgie. Think parakeet. A bulgie is what OTG gets when he thinks of Madonna.
Nice little campfire you guys had last year. Roast some weenies or marshmellows?

Scott,
You AND SWMBO (Cathy) corrected me about it being Budgie. OOPS.
Hey guys, have a great weekend with Al(cohol). Sounds like a fun, who-gives-a-f**k few days. _________________ John & Cathy

Sure Frank and Andrew, I'll find you. I'll bring my good sleeping bag for sure! Don't forget to pack your emergency bottle of Grunters Wipeout.....
I suspect I'll have a few BMWMCQ members in tow.
BTW I definitely don't get a bulgie thinking of Madonna, far from it.... _________________ K1100RS '97

Weather forecast for N.S.W Northern Tablelands this weekend is early morning frosts and below zero temperatures.
So bring a good sleeping bag (mine is rated to minus 10) and warm clothing, plus the obligatory choice of tipple!
cheers,
Andrew

Looks like the K11RS will be staying home. The parts I have ordered from Motobins haven't arrived yet (fuel pump filter sock has split). So I'll be on my Suzuki DRZ400S.
See you Saturday.
cheers,
