Welcome!
Having had a Velorex mounted on an '82 Goldwing, I love sidecars.
The only one I could bring myself to mount on a curve-loving machine like the K1100, would be this one -> http://bmwmotorcycletech.info/flexit.htm
I have seen a few K's with hacks mounted, but nothing that looked "right", if you know what I mean.
Not to say that it hasn't been done, I just have not seen it in my limited exposure to K-bikes.

Bill

Storch,

Here's a link to an article about my K1100RS / EML Speed 2000

http://hpsidecars.com/Projects/MikeCurrin/A%20Little%20More%20on%20the%20Side1.pdf

You are most likely going to have to come up with a sub frame of some kind. There's not really anything to attach to on the lower front.

My rig uses a subframe that ties into the steering head, front motor mounts, the transmisson mounts, and where the center stand used to be. The sidecar then attches to the subframe and the rear section of the K bike frame. The subframe originally came from EML but has had a few "enhancements"

What sidecar are you looking at? Many of the siecar manufacturers have subfframes for various models.

If you're looking for a more performance based set up you could find some information here

http://hpsidecars.com/

Or for just general sidecar info

http://www.sidecar.com/

Both have links to maufacturers and dealers

Here's some more pictures of my rig that show the subframe a little better

Thanks for reply.I was interested how the upper forward attachment looked like.I am building my own sidecar and make my own attachments.
Right now I have a FJ 1100 with homebuilt sidecar.Want to see how the K bike compares.Have been in sidecars since 1952.- There are some pictures of my sidecars in the united sidecar association pictures, also in Adventure rider hacks.

If you are building your own sub-frame that would suffice for the lower mounts. I have an 1985 EML on a K100 and the front upper mount is connected to the lower engine bolt via a threaded piece of hex stock.

Good Luck......

Jim,are you using hex stock just because you have it?That is my kind of thing.I just bought 40 feet of 1.5" square tubing for $ 25.oo and I have a
lot of 1" square tubing from a plotting table project left over.-What connections do you have to the left side of the bike?
