A few weeks ago I got an Airhawk seat cushion to put on my Corbin Dual Canyon seat. The seat, although comfortable, is as hard as a park bench. Being rather bony in the rear quarters, I was looking to add some softness to the Corbin for the longer rides. I got the small cruiser seat and it's more than big enough.
I waited to go to HMIII before posting this review. After about 1,200 miles on it I'm happy to report it made a huge difference in comfort. I still got a bit stiff in arse parts after about two hours, but it was a more spread out, less intense pain than before. I used to get a very sharp, intense pain right on the bone tips that was excruciating. Now it's more of a widespread, "need to move around" soreness after a few hours.
I can finally ride as long as my tank will last, and by then I need a break anyway. I made the 7 hour ride home with only two stops, and the ride up the same.
I like that it is easily adjustable with the air stem, you can blow it up, or let it out very easily. I like that it only has a thin Lycra-like cover that dries out quickly and a vinyl cushion underneath that doesn't absorb water.
It feels a little weird at first, kind of a squishy gel feeling, but later on it's nice, spread out soft feeling. A quick rest up on the rear pillion and it feels good and comfy again.
It was a bit pricey, but compared to a new seat, it's cheap. I paid about $108 with shipping.
The other added bonus (or negative depending on your height) is that I sit about 3/4" higher in the saddle which gives me a bit of needed legroom.
My butt is happy!

They are more than double that over here!! A bit of sheepskin is next to nothing here (just jump the fence) and helps somewhat, probably not as good though. I have heard good things about them. _________________ K1100RS '97

I've had one for about four years. It's the next size larger.
I find it works well to do a 700 Mile (1060 Km) day.
The trick seems to be to let it inflate on it's own to max (don't blow it up) and release enough air so you aren't quite 'bottoming out'.
It does prove to be a bit uncomfortable in the front at times. Let me put it this way- it would be perfect for female riders.
Makes me think of selling my Russel. Anyone interested in one? I find it's too tall for me. I'm 5'10". If you're 6' or so, it would be perfect.

Don, how waterproof is it. I might be interested.
Mine soaks water like a sponge when it rains and take 3 days to dry out. _________________ Ride safe.

Hi Scott,
I haven't ridden in the rain with it. It's probably sponge-like as it's not vinyl or leather covered. It's grey fabric in the seating areas and vinyl on the sides. I treated it with some 303 Water-repellant but I wouldn't count on it. I'd be looking for a rain cover of some sort.

Thanks for the reply Don, I'm considering having mine recovered as it's starting to look a little tacky. _________________ Ride safe.

I know what you mean about that, the boys were a little cramped at times. _________________ Steve
