Local guy came by the other day for a center stand. Bought his 85 K100RS new in Germany while in the service and has always owned it. 146k and he said he's never lubed the splines. I learned this during our discussion of what to do about a weep hole drip.

My bike is currently in the shop for a small weep hole drip (and they want an arm and a leg)

Usually a clutch nut O-ring. Quite a bit of labor is required to replace that $1 part.

I'd expect that from a later model with the more hardened parts, but not an '85...
