Bill Shaw (K11 long sold) and I rode up to the Square Route Rally this last weekend, was interesting keeping up with him on his K12GT (always trying to find 6th gear when the K75RT hits about 70mph!) I ran into none other than Karl Rosenbaum (replaced his with an R11RT and has recently replaced that with an R12GS Adv.) Was great seeing some familiar faces like Reid Daland who, like me, has been off the rally circuit for some time.
We did see a red K1100LT with Pennsylvania tags that looked like it just rolled off the showroom floor, this bike was as clean and perfect as any I've ever seen! Standing there looking at it with Karl he did mention that he has regretted selling the K11 since the moment it left his driveway with the new owner _________________

Funny thing, Ted: Since I got that K75S running it's so smooth that I've forgotten to shift into 5th a few times. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

LoL - I didn't take but a few - here is one of Karl talking with Don Eilenberger:
I will say the bike seems happy with the Mobil-1 though I am thinking next time to try the V-Twin 20-50 a try _________________

It is a BMW comfort seat, came with the bike as an option. Someone at the Rally thought it might have been made for BMW by Corbin but I don't see how as it is well made and quite comfortable _________________

Hmmm.... Must be a later one. The earlier ones didn't have stitching. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

One would think that would leave out BMW as the source.
For a comfortable seat that is.
The stitching looks real similar to the Corbins I have. _________________ Ride safe.

It may be a confort seat but it has been recovered. I have comfort seats on both of mine and the "fake" stitching is different. There is a single "pad" at each level, not two. A friend of mine had a Corbin on his LT and this seat looks very similar. If it works for you, I guess that is all that matters. _________________ Doug

Yeah that was me. I was trying to find pics of my comfort seat made by corbin, but can't find em. That seat didn't work for me and I got a Russell soon after the trip to Daytona. (remember that - 1998?)

It was great seeing you, Bill, Reid, Don, etc.
That was a sweet looking ride and all stock (or appeared so). I do miss the LT. Still my favorite bike; hopefully the GSA will grow on me.
Btw that was me following you east bound on 77 on the way out of the rally.

LoL I was wondering why you didn't pass me, I was poking along and still uncertain around tight corners with wet asphalt. _________________
