Ok all the k1100lt expirenced guys:
I was going to ride down to pick up my new glasses and as I backed out the drivway, turning the handlebar to the right, the bike would die!!!
If I turn back streight quickly it comes back on!
All the lights in the dash go out as well as the engine dies?
What in k11 gremlins do I need to look for ,where could a short, loose connection be to cause that?
thanks for all your help guys!! keith _________________ 1995 k1100lt daily ride(22953)when I got it

Sounds like a broken wire in the ign circuit. Probably coming off of the ign switch around the steering head.
Not a home right now to give you any wire colors to look for.
That's what it sounds like to me. _________________ Ride safe.

YUP!!!
What Scott Anderson said!
The 94 K1100RS I had for about 2 weeks was doing that. The PO knew that and had the complete BMW part, inner wiring of the switch? But never put it in.
Just don't turn the bars all the way he said.
That bike got crashed out & I still have the new never installed part.
I'm thinking a 94 & 95 would use the same part #, but I might be wrong. Smarter people than I can comment on that.
I'll get the part number off the bag & post it here.

Tis very common. Often during assembly cable ties held the loom too tight. The wires break inside the insulation. If you remove the tank & follow the harness from the Ign switch, you will find an IIRC 4 pin connector. There is a cover on the electrical bit of the switch & this is held by a VERY small screw sealed with red paint DO NOT LOSE, DAMHIK. You can either replace the assembly 61322305292 or tug the wires individually, any that stretch are NBG. I replaced my wires as I couldn't be arsed to order a new one. Reasonable soldering skills needed here BTW.

The part number is
88182
3541509
08/079
That's the number on the bar code tag
Molded into the harness end is # BMW1459 943
It's the white plug coming off the bottom of the ignition switch
Along with it is that itty bitty screw part number.
If you need/want these, then PM me your address and I will send them to you.
If it fix's your problem and you are happy, you can send me what ever they are worth too you.
Best regards.

The new one I have is a straight head. It'll take a gun smith screwdriver to move it I think.
It's very tiny. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!
