|
|
Turns out my wobbly fairing is a combination of broken bracket (one of the "H" arms Plus 2 of the 4 stearing head mounting points) and the two top mounting bosses (where the upper 'H" arms joun the fairing) snapping off. 104K miles and a lot of dirt roads have taken their toll.
I've ordered an "H" from a junker on EBAY. Now I need to sort out the fairing. The breaks are pretty clean, and I want to try and epoxy them back in place.
Has anyone tried this and can you recomend an epoxy?

PS - thanks for all the help on this - http://k11og.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8251&highlight=
4500 miles later (including Boston to Louisiana via the BRP and Natchez Trace) it is holding up great.
I'm now preparing for another shot at this trip:

which ended with a busted drive shaft U-joint. I'm trying to make sure this attempt is a success, _________________ 1993 K1100LT (116,000 miles and counting)

I use several layers of fiberglass on the inside. Then I let the painter guy fill and sand the external cracks. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
