Hi Brent - there are two options that I know of - BMW bobbins for about $120.00 for both sides. Or Motobins - for about $60.00 for both sides. The ones from Motobins are steel and will wear the carrier and the disk - eventually.

As much as I love my bike, I went with Motobins. http://www.motobins.co.uk/displayfinal.php?q=bobbins&go=GO

A penny saved is not always a penny earned IMHO.

This is why I stay with the aluminum ones.

From Max BMW:
Front disk Right = $397.49
Front disk Left = $502.85

I thought the same thing and got mine through Chicago BMW. Sometimes it takes a while but you do get a nice discount.

Or if you're lucky and Duck has a set, $180 shipped for both. Thanks again Duck. Cool

Has anyone had the carriers or disks wear due to using steel bobbins? I installed mine about 10k miles ago, and have seen no evidence of wear yet despite regular and fairly brutal braking.

Times are hard....

I'm sure the rotors from Beachcomber will be much more reasonable than OEM.

..........................talking of which....................... Wink

Good time for an update.

I now have the pre-production rotors in my possession for road testing. They have undergone static testing on the manudacturer's test rigs - passed with flying colours. Laughing

HOWEVER, we are not happy with the "design" of the cut outs. We tried to be clever and incorporate "R..A..M" in the cut-outs - looks absolutely crap !!! Embarassed Embarassed So back to simple shapes and "waves".

Our tame courrier rider will test the beejayzus out of them for "real World" feedback. When we're happy we'll have 3 /4 production sets run off to check consistency and then road test all 3/4 sets.

Strange, they managed to make a set for a K1200 front - drat - guess I'll have to fit them to my K1200 wheeled Streetfighter !!!!!!!!

BTW - the Reverse "Y" Trike [ K1100 ] is coming on nicely............. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
