OK - while moving one bike I managed to knock off the right hand mirror on the RS. Now I understand the need for that cord that Bob's BMW sells. So...it looks like it just pops back on. So...is that what I do..put in place and smack it smartly, or is there a special way to hold my tongue while I do this??

Also...if anyone has an owner's manual I could copy, I'll pay postage to get one for a couple of days....

Yes - hold mirror in place and smack it smartly. Keep tongue from between teeth.

Manual can be downloaded within this post

Get steel fishing leaders from your local sports/fishing store for leashes.

Thanks....I'll be printing all that on the company printer. I was hoping to get the owner's manual--not a repair manual --since the salesman I bought it from admitted he didn't know much about the "early" K-Bikes
(note: my R100 is older than he is) so I'm not even sure what all the warning lights/controls are for. Proper temp gauge range, etc etc. This is a "project bike" for me. It wasn't exactly abused, but it might have been un-loved. It needs some cosmetic work certainly, and the bags replaced (one has a hole in it covered with duct tape)
It's a 1996 K1100RS "Special Edition" with the black/silver paint work.
More questions are surely coming...

Mac

No need to print out the whole Clymer. just print out the pages you need when you need them.

Riders Manual emailed. Very Happy

Great that someone here sent you a scan. You are on a really good site.

Here's another source:
