Long time no post, I know (actually been out riding, which has surprised even me!)
BUT...
The RS is now getting old - 193000kms, and sadly age is manifesting as a leak from the final drive pinion seal into the swingarm - OK until it gets enough to dump EP90 all over the rear of the gearbox, just in front of the rear wheel!
It's livable at the moment as long as I drain the gaiter about every 2000kms, but it would be nice to consider a final drive rebuild of some sort (if I'm doing seals then bearings should follow too, ideally, although that does beg the choice of investment around the pinion & ring gears and their age/wear).
So ... (waffle over)
- Does any one know of any rebuilds/rebuilders without the unobtanium BMW jigs?
- Any thoughts on lateral-thinking solutions?
Again, main hazard appears to be oil getting out onto back disc/tyre if there's too much or the rear swingarm gaiter fails, but also starting to consider cumulative restoration costs/options soon if this leads into more items (gearbox rebuilds, clutch, engine/head work)
Cheers

Hi Max,
Glad to hear you're well and doing some riding.
No out of the box thinking, geez I don't know exactly what is involved, but you may want to look at this place:

May be able to help you out.
Good luck and good riding.
