The newest entry to the garage is a 94 K11LT with 33k on the clock. This was about a month ago.

I told myself that I wouldn't neglect/ignore my 95 R11GS and that my GS would still get to take me to and fro work each day but the K bike is just so darn comfy and smooth that I just can't get excited about riding the GS.

The GS was my 1st BMW and I love the idea of dual sporting but i doesn't hold a candle to the K's road handling. I find myself taking the long way home from work and turning 200 miles of a month's worth of work commuting into 600 miles of commuting.

My wife even seems to "like" going for motorcycle rides. This is a new phenomenom that seems to be directly correlated to the arrival of the K bike.

It isn't looking good for the GS . . .

I totally understand.

I bought my first K11 on a whim while I had a 1 year old Honda 1300VTX.
Day after day I kept choosing the K over the Honda until one day I couldn't remeber when I had last changed the oil in the Honda.

It was then I knew I had to let her go to someone that would ride her.

I have never regreted that choice.

That said...
Keep the GS until you are very sure you'll never want to ride it again.

It's a good bike and will do things the K doesn't like to do.

I am in a very similiar situation. A K75s found its way to my door about six weeks ago, it had been sitting a long time but I have it running now and love it! Since I got the K running the GS has been sitting. I went for a ride on the K the other night and when I came home I fired up the GS and went for a ride. It felt VERY ungainly. I think it may be time to part ways with that one, maybe look for an K1100RS.

Gwen

I see another 1300vtx convert!!! Shocked Shocked I also had a 1300vtx when i got my k,

Now the "X" sits in the garage feeling lonely as i dont like riding it anymore, With me being 6'5", the K is so comfortable, and enjoying to ride.

Last thanksgiving I rode up to see my son at travis AFB in norther calif, 747 miles round trip, 14.5 hours and 3.5 of that was spent with him for dinner before he had to report to duty... Wasn't even tired when i got back.. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

This was my 2004 at 14,000+ miles. The pic was taken to post the add to sell it.

It was the bike I was riding when I met my future Husband. (yeah I know it should be 'the' not 'to)

That's hand built trailer I designed and had made for car and M/C touring.

Then as Duck says, I wenk to the darK side... Very Happy

Good looking set up. I also had a C model, it was a 05, But as tall as i am it was never a real comfortable bike, nice bike, just not real comfortable for the long trips..

I would like to also get a RS, but im not sure if it would be real comfortable being my height (6'5") so for now I am real happy with my LT, and with only one day off a week, im not sure two bike would be that great, I keep this one busy enough as is..

Hey Gwen that does sound like fun but it is hard for me to get off island this time of year. I'm a boater/fisherman before a bike guy I guess. I don't do a lot of touring. The K is still a little bit of a work in progress at this point. I am working on the pin hole in the tank issue right now. Other than that the bike runs like a top. Cleaned the tank, new fuel pump, damper, filter, tires, and injectors cleaned. All good now except for the tank but I may have that knocked for now. Just finished patching that this morning so I will know more tomorrow.

Sugar Hill is just 3+ hours north of here after I get off the boat (2+ hours on the boat). I go through Sugar Hill almost every weekend December through March on my way to ski country. Nice country up there.

SK sorry but I have to sell my GS to fund other bikes Sad
