Good evening all....

Removed the windshield 'raise/lower' mechanism on the K1100LT ( ie: the panel assembly ) to lube the slider rods. I see the drive motor and the 'worm gear' housing and was wondering IF there is any way to lube that as well. or even IF it needs to be lubed. It appears to be sealed with the exception of the plastic adjustment nut on the face of the drive. Anyone have advice ??

Hey, while I'm at it, here's another unenlightened question: On the upper left side of the cockpit panel to the left of the 'map light' there are two switches that I have yet to determine what either/both do. When I removed the windscreen panel I see that they are both connected and functional, and the leads run down into the harness... but just what the heck are they for ?

Regards all, and thanks in advance for clueing me in !!

Ernie - I just clean and lube the sliders. I suppose you could take it all apart and lube it...

The switches left of the map light are anyone's guess. They don't do anything when you flip them? I'd think if they were stock they'd have icons telling you what they're for.
