So...went to change the plugs on the new '95 K11RS and had a dickens of a time getting the wires off the plugs...
Don't know if the PO ever changed them, but he sure didn't use any dielectric grease..
When they finally came out, I found the internals of the caps had corroded to the top of the plugs....lots of white aluminum corrosion came out of the wire end...
Plus two of them lost the little clippy wire inside that snaps on the plug...
Looks like I need new wires...hopefully with a little cleaning, these will work until I can get some new ones... _________________ Bob T.

Contact the guys from REALM or Beachcomber on this site.
If you wind up buying a set, put me in for a set of red leads for a 93 K1100RS.
I'll split the shipping with you.
If your need is urgent, sounds like it may be, Drake has the skinny on some stuff this side of the ocean that will work just fine. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

I use Magnecor leads on my bikes. The best price is at Alamo Motorsports. They're not listed on the site but if you call their customer service number they can order the K100RS4V/K1100 Magnecor leads for you and you'll have them pretty quickly.
The 8mm leads are blue, the 8.5mm "competition" leads are red. I have both. Blue on my green LT and red on my red RS.
8mm (blue) part # 40210
8.5mm (red) part # 45210
Get a set of NGK iridium DR7EIX plugs too. (Good price at NAPA.)
Then synch your throttle bodies and your bike will run p-u-r-r-fectly. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

jpberens1994K1100RS...thanks! I sent beachcomer a PM, thinking that was my best option, but I just went and ordered the Magnecor as recommended by Flying Duck due to time constraints and the very limited riding season left around here.
FD...thanks for the tip...I went with the 8.5mm wires because my bike is red... _________________ Bob T.

Hi Guys,
no foul - prior to developing the RAM Power Leads I originally bought Magnecor for my bike!!
Jim - hang in there, there's a possibility of a "group buy" coming up [ shox and leads ]. We're hoping that there will eventually be a small stock in the US for urgent requirements.
BTW - RAM has 10mm Comp. leads [ Red only ] as well as the uprated 8mm range.
The German Flying Brick guys put in a bulk order [ 100 sets ] and because of their involvement we have a FEW sets left in Blue [ 8mm ] and Black [ 7mm ].
It's strange - we all [ yes guilty ] do our oil changes and other maintainance whilst completely disregarding the plug leads !! "Oh yea they LOOK OK"
I've had loads of customer feedback where folk have realised that 1 or more leads has been defective - probably for some considerable time!
The other point about leads is that they generally break down under load - so when you'resitting there at tickover or revs with no road load - they seem fine....................... _________________ Beachcomber '93 K1100RS / '93 K1100LT and several K100's |
