Guys, we have no control over this increase.
We have maintained the price for the past 18 months, but the UK is in for a VAT hike on Jan 1st. [ from 17.5% > 20% ].
In the USA you do not pay that tax, but the same tax will influence the component parts to make the shox - thus more expensive.
I am currently waiting for all the increases to come in from suppliers - but this tax effects everything from raw materials to delivery fuel - currently £1.22 per litre !!!
Orders placed AND paid before Jan 1st will escape the increase. _________________ Beachcomber '93 K1100RS / '93 K1100LT and several K100's |

I'm putting one together, but haven't had any commitments. Doesn't look promising for a pre-hike buy at this point.
Maybe we could talk the Realm folks into off-shoring to the states. We have an abundance of factory space available... You can't swing a dead cat without hitting someone looking for a job, either. _________________ '02 - GL1800

Let me echo what Bill is saying guys - to get in BEFORE our UK tax increases orders must be in AND paid for before 1st.Jan.
After the last group buy orgainised by Pompadour, I had SIX mails from folk who had just missed out and were asking about the next buy.
Well here it is - we're still sending individual orders out - 3 this week - that's a third of the way to significant saving on the carriage!
We've filled 7 individuual orders since the last group buy - so people are obviously buying the RAM. I appreciate that some were very urgent - but Bill. like Pompadour before him, is going to a lot of trouble on your behalf. _________________ Beachcomber '93 K1100RS / '93 K1100LT and several K100's |

I would get one, but after laying out the cash for the bike last month and a bunch of maintenance stuff since then...(not to mention the holidays on the way)...the timing is bad for me.
If someone buys the drag bike I have for sale, then I am all over it, but that's not likely this time of year. _________________ Bob T.

Hey Duck,
haven't forgotten you buddy........!!!!!!!!!
The first 2 prototype sets have arrived. The "Standard" springs are being tested as we speak - results excellent. The 20% uprated set will be trialled as soon as poss. Only one test mule bike at the mo - all my others are off the road !!!
As soon as we're happy with the prototypes, I'll get AC to start the ball rolling for manufacture. _________________ Beachcomber '93 K1100RS / '93 K1100LT and several K100's |

I'd be interested in a set of springs before the VAT rise. Let me know when I can order & pay. I'm assuming they will "plug & play" straight into standard K1100RS forks? _________________ 1980 CB900FA

BC: Can you give us some preliminary technical info on the springs? Since the factory K1100 springs are progressive, I assume you's are going to be progressive but slightly stiffer??? Are they going to be longer than the factory springs? _________________ 93 LT (x2)

We have 2 sets for each bike [ k100 / 1100 ] - one is 10% over stock specs and the second sets are 20% and 10mm longer.
Second sets being trialled as of now. _________________ Beachcomber '93 K1100RS / '93 K1100LT and several K100's |

So....any update on the fork springs?
I am pulling together the parts to rebuild the forks on my K11RS and need to pick out springs.
I have a few weeks to decide. I can wait if we have a firm date. _________________ Bob T.

Bob,
I have posted elsewhere re: the current situation.
The springs have been trialled, but we are getting stupid cost prices at the moment which are completely out of line with the price of the RAM shox.
I have a major scheduling meeting with AC next week to finalise what's what for 2011.
I hope to have a more positive date schedule by then. _________________ Beachcomber '93 K1100RS / '93 K1100LT and several K100's |
