to ALBUQUERQUE!
What did you think I was getting rid of my K, no way.
I will be moving to Albuquerque probably the end of February beginning of March.
I'm sorry I will miss everyone at Hungry Mothers but you can't get rid of me that easily. I'll still be here.
I wonder if you can eat Roadrunners? Then I can start the Hungry Roadrunner. _________________ Rich

In previous lives I lived in Albuquerque for 3 years and Denver for 7 years. I look forward to getting back out there to some great rides and a longer riding season. _________________ Rich

Rich,
First OTG and now you (although it looks like you will get out west first).
Alright, which K11OG'er on the east coast isn't using deodorant?
Only kidding....
Rich- congrats on the move. Now you can really stack up the miles. We'll miss you at HM, though.

Congrats on the move Rich, I know you've been looking forward to it.
That is some gorgeous country out that way, miles and miles of wide open mountain and desert roads, I'd love to ride out there, enjoy! _________________ Steve

Hi,
Congratulations! I'll certainly ride up to Albuquerque (yes, I can spell it!) sometime this spring or summer to see you. I may even bring spaghetti fixings so you can have a "taste" of HMIV. Looking forward to seeing another K11OG person face to face. There are so few of us here. I'll try to bring Larry Johnson with me. _________________ Ride Safe,

Phil:
That sounds like a great idea! While I'm not keen on a ride to Albuquerque in mid-summer, I'll be free after the semester ends on 12 May.
And Joel is in the process of being seduced: while he enjoys his R1150, he misses the K75 and is increasingly finding opportunities to test ride the K11 as we continue to tune it up. Sunday, he was clearly trying to figure out how to get one for himself, looking lustfully at the '96 on my back porch that we have yet to start rehabilitating.
BTW, there's apparently a great BMW group in Albuquerque/Santa Fe. While I haven't interacted with them, another BMW rider here in El Paso who travelled regularly to ABQ found a guru up there that was extremely generous in loaning the sometimes esoteric tools required for BMW maintenance. They also sponsor a major rally in the early fall.

Hey Phil,
That sounds great. I definitely look forward to seeing you. I will be heading out the beginning of March and start looking for a house while my wife hangs back in Maryland while we sell this one. _________________ Rich

Hi Rich....
I join with all the others in wishing you a smooth transition to ABQ. Will miss you in VA in May as will all the others. Now How are you coming with the tungsten-disulfide experiment ??? Remember, if/when you get your lube together, quite a few of us are eager to try !
Very best regards and god luck !........// Ernie in NH _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

Thanks Ernie,
I haven't had a chance to work with the WS2. I need to do my spring oil change and do it then and ride the bike for a while to make sure it is mixed up and getting laid down on to the surfaces. Also I want to do it on my bike before I send it to anyone else.
I may be flying back and riding the bike out to ABQ so that will be the time to do it.
I will keep everyone up to date as I move along with experiment.
I just used it on the axles and wheels of my nephews pinewood derby cars (dry lubricant is legal) so it will be interesting to see how they do. I used moly powder on my son's car in '99' and he came in first place. Its all about that initial start and breaking that static friction. _________________ Rich

| I lived in Clovis (near Texas line) for a few years. Get a good dust cover to keep with you... the blowing sand plays hell with a paint job. |

That and the blowing barbed wire (tumble weeds). That's why the house we are looking for has to have a garage. _________________ Rich

Yeah, but you will want to cover it ANY time it is parked outside (at work, grocery store, etc)
Just sayin... |
