|
|
I've read many of the posts on tyres/tires/wheels, and I think I've tried most combinations on my LTs. However, does anyone know why BMW didn't fit RS wheels and radial tyres to the LT from the factory?
They were rolling out K1s and 16v RS bikes with wide rims and radials in 1990, just curious why not the LT too.

I assume it was more a case of why they didn't fit the narrower rims to the K1 and RS - because they were sportier models therefore fashion dictated they had to have wider rims.
If you're coming up to needing a set, Conti-go's come in the right sizes and are cheaper than AM26's. They're a bit newer and were recommended to my dealer by the wholesaler as they were OOS of front Avons.
I've stuck 4000miles on mine with no signs of wear, but due to weather I can only tell you what the middle of the tread is like. (one day of sunshine, is that too much to ask!) _________________ Bikes:

So you could get the wheel off without taking the bike apart?
The K100s had the same rear wheel so it might be a legacy thing. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
